The most compact truck Ford ever made, the Ford F-100 is the classic expression of a utilitarian vehicle with iconic style, roomy cabin space, and a smooth, beloved body – an iconic truck in the history of Ford vehicles. A much smaller and shapely brother to the F-150, The Ford F-100 is no longer in production, unfortunately, being discontinued in 1983 within the seventh generation of Ford's F-Series. However, Ford enthusiasts refurbish these trucks, and with such a vast inventory on eBay, you may find the F-100 for you. A half-ton truck, the F-100 has some noticeable differences in its generations. The 1953 Ford F-100 has two versions, the "Flareside" and "Styleside." You can identify a "Flareside" by its traditional external body and separate fender, while the "Styleside" has a much smoother-looking body. If you shop for a 1977 F-100, you can see that grille design and rectangular headlights differentiate from the earlier generations. The cab length is also larger, with front disc brakes and coils in the suspension system. The last generation of F-100s – produced in 1980 – have far larger bodies than the preceding models, with the Ford logo emblem added to the center of the Ford F-100 grille and the chassis redesigned, making them more akin to the F-150s that would eventually supersede them.
