About Ford 302 Engine

Any auto picker lucky enough to find an old 1968 Shelby GT350 rusting away in a junkyard with its motor still intact knows that he or she has come across a true treasure in the automobile world. People call the 1968 GT350 version of the Ford 302 engine the "HiPo" version because of its high output, or choose from an engine that bears the words "hecho in Mexico" — or "made in Mexico" — on its cast iron block. This is one the strongest offerings of the 302 engine family, which includes the Boss 302 and Trans Am 302 engine. People called later versions of the 302 engine the "5.0-liter" throughout the 1990s. It is still available from Ford Racing as a brand-new Ford 302 crate engine. There are listings on eBay for both the completely new engine as well as spare Ford 302 engine parts like headers and rods from the original classic engines of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The Ford 302 engine is one of the finer American motors, made to give big power in a smaller package for highly demanding vehicles.
