About Egyptian Sandals
If you want to walk like an Egyptian, you first have to have the right footwear. When browsing the large inventory on eBay, you can see many different interpretations of Egyptian sandals. One design element that is common across most of these shoes is the intricate use of straps. Egyptian gladiator sandals often have straps that extend from the base of the shoe to as high as the knees, crisscrossing around the legs as they rise. Of course, there are versions of these sandals that simply have straps, often made from leather, that wrap in interesting designs around the feet and ankles. Some Egyptian sandals work well as costume accessories and have more significant and obvious ancient Egyptian influences. These may include sandals that are made from shiny gold material or thick leather bands. Other sandal designs take inspiration from significant Egyptian muses. Examples include Cleopatra-inspired shoes made with wooden soles and beaded serpents. There are shoes available that use the culture of Egypt to create unique casual shoes, over-the-top costume pieces, and many styles in between.
