Domo's character (Domo kun is his Japanese name) is "a strange creature that hatched from an egg," and is the official mascot of Japan's public broadcaster NHK—he has taken the world by storm with his oversized saw-toothed mouth that is in a perpetual gape of childish wonder. But, before considering getting yourself a Domo plush toy, you need to know how to look after him properly. Domo loves "nikujaga" (a meat and potato stew)—but due to a mysterious DNA mutation, he really doesn't like apples. Who knows if apples will turn Domo into something akin to a Gremlin, but for your own safety—just keep apples away from him! If your Domo gets lonely, you can always get him a little friend from any of eBay's reliable sellers—bearing in mind that his low-pitched noises can only be understood by other characters. Clint Bickham, the creator of the Domo comic book, has said that to him Domo's expression is "a sort of cheery wonderment. Like when a kid wakes to a room full of presents on Christmas day. How can you possibly resist that?
