About DC Power Supply

Modern homes and appliances use an AC, or alternating current, power supply, something that most people take for granted. However, there is another type called a DC power supply, or direct current. Not many applications exist for direct current, but if you need a lot of power for an old circuit board or the need to charge batteries, direct current is the answer. Many high voltage DC power supply units are hand made, since outside of R&D, there is not much need for them. These devices are used to supply circuit boards with power while in development, and for many other uses in the field of electronics. Another type of these machines is an AC to DC power supply, called a rectifier, that converts AC to DC. DC power may be a dying breed, electronics no longer use valves, or vacuum tubes, anymore. But if you need one, several different types of DC power supply devices are available from reliable sellers on eBay.
