About Creedence Clearwater Revival

The story of Creedence Clearwater Revival is practically a music industry fairy tale about a little group that made it big. John Fogerty, Doug Clifford, and Stu Cook were old friends who used to jam together in their school days. They decided to form a band called The Blue Velvets and invited John's older brother, Tom, to play with them. The group played local gigs around the Bay Area and eventually earned a recording contract in 1964, changing the band name to The Golliwoggs. However, it was not until the band rebranded itself as Creedence Clearwater Revival that it received widespread success. The group exploded onto the scene in 1968, releasing several hit singles, and playing famous festivals such as Woodstock. Its label, Fantasy, released an impressive seven Creedence Clearwater Revival LPs in five years before the band's demise in 1972. Although CCR broke up over 40 years ago, the band's music still plays on radio airwaves around the world. You can find plenty of albums to add to your Creedence Clearwater Revival CD or LP collection on eBay. Sellers offer a variety of original studio albums, compilations, live albums, and bootlegs.
