When it comes to laptops and notebooks, the Panasonic CF-52 sets a standard for ruggedness. In fact, the company labels this series the "Toughbook" and it's designed to take a lot of abuse and come up humming. With a durable magnesium alloy chassis, a shock-mounted 15-inch screen and hard drive, and a keyboard tray that's rated to take a four ounce spill of liquid without going out of service, this is a laptop for the accident prone and terminally careless, as well as for those who want to use their notebooks without having to pamper them. A dual-core processor in the CF-52 I5 has plenty of performance muscle and the CF-52 hard drive has a solid if, by today's standards, unspectacular 120 GB of memory. In its original release, this was a Windows XP machine, but of course, it's easily updatable to more recent versions of Windows and with respect to Windows 8, has all the capability except a touchscreen. Along with parts and accessories, it's readily found on eBay.
