About Cardboard Tubes
Cardboard is recyclable, but it is also reusable in ways you may not even have considered. For craft projects, you can use cardboard tubes to make fun, creative projects with kids. It teaches children to recycle and reduce waste, and creates memories as well as a useful, one-of-a-kind craft. You can cut them into loops and decorate with stones, sequins or emblems to create a scarf holder. Spray paint them with a hammered metal paint and attach to a sturdy cardboard bottom, and then fill the empty tube with paper clips, pens, or other office supplies. Attach a string hanging loop, coat with a thin layer of peanut butter, and roll in seeds to hang on a tree outside for a birdfeeder. Cardboard tubes can be a key to creativity, but they can also be used to wrap little presents. Just insert the small treasure into the tube and wrap in colorful tissue. You can twist the ends and secure them with ribbon. They will never guess what is inside. Try gathering up unsightly cords from behind your television or office desk, and run them through a larger cardboard tube to contain and keep the cords from tangling before you plug them in. There is a large selection of paper tubes available on eBay.
