About American Girl Molly

Meet American Girl Molly. Historical doll Molly McIntire represents a patriotic schoolgirl in 1944. "While she waits for her father to return from his duties as an Army doctor, Molly learns to pull together for the common good," according to the American Girl website. Molly has long brown braids tied with ribbons and wears round wire-frame glasses with school clothes that include a red-and-white plaid jumper or navy dress with red print sweater vest. What makes American Girl dolls special are the emphasis on history and the detailed accessories. In addition to the books that tell the World War II era story of American Girl Molly and her English friend Emily, Molly's fans can outfit her with period-design bed, book bag, camp gear, and even a shiny red metal lunchbox with tiny sandwich, pear, celery and carrots, and a napkin. The vast inventory on eBay includes plenty of choices for Molly, including her red-and-white striped pajamas, red fuzzy slippers, red-and-white tap dance outfit, and her very patriotic white pinafore-style birthday dress with red and blue ruffles. Saddle shoes and a varsity jacket are finishing touches. The Molly doll was retired in 2014, but fans can still outfit her in vintage style.
