About Ideal Crissy Family Dolls
In 1969, the Crissy Doll hit shelves and quickly became one of the hottest toys of the next decade. Kids loved the 18-inch doll because a knob on her back made her hair "grow," and they could style it any way they wanted. Her popularity sparked an entire line of dolls with different features, and while the Ideal Toy Corporation no longer makes them, you can find a large selection available on eBay. Each model of the doll comes with a different outfit, including shoes and a dress, and some of them have foot-length hair, while others have only hip-length hair. There are both Caucasian and African-American versions of Crissy. Later models of Crissy can talk, move their heads, and swivel their hips. The original Crissy Doll has several friends and relatives, including her cousin, Velvet, and Cinnamon, Velvet's little sister. At 15 and 12 inches in height, these dolls are actually smaller than Crissy, but their hair still grows the same way. You may also be interested in some accessories for or related to the doll, such as clothing patterns from Simplicity and McCall's, paper dolls, a hair dryer, and a hairbrush. With Crissy, you can relive the nostalgia of your childhood or introduce your own child to one of your favorite toys from your youth.
