Eagle Claw Fishing Rods

Founded in Denver, Colorado, Eagle Claw has been in the fishing business for over 90 years. The company started making fishing hooks in Denver. In addition to manufacturing Eagle Claw fishing rods, they expanded to manufacturing reels, snells, rigs, weights, sinkers, and more.

What series of rods are made by Eagle Claw?

The Eagle Claw label includes the following types of rods:

  • Featherlight spinning and fly rods
  • Trailmaster spinning and fly rods
  • Fish Skins fly rods
  • Raptor and travel raptor rods
  • Pack-It telescopic spinning rods
  • Wright & McGill Skeet Reese tournament rods
  • Powerlight spin and fly rods
What are the features of Eagle Claw's Featherlight series?

In the Featherlight series, there are 10 different lengths and styles. There is one for casting, six different spinning models, and three different types of a fly rod. With their bright yellow color, these rods can be used in both freshwater and saltwater and range from 5 feet 6 inches to 9 inches. The two- or four-piece breakdown construction makes them easy to carry in a backpack or in the trunk of a vehicle. The rod blank is made of fiberglass, and the handle is constructed from two-tone cork. There's also a split grip handle as well as aluminum oxide guides and black-tipped guide wraps.

What Eagle Claw rods can be used as fly rods?

The Trailmaster spin and fly rod can be used for fly fishing. The graphite construction contributes to this rod being a dual-purpose tool. All you have to do to go from spinning to fly fishing in seconds is take off your spinning reel, remove the butt section of the rod, remove the top portion of the handle, reverse it, and reconnect it. Then add your fly reel and you're ready to go. These rods come in three different weights and lengths from 5.5- to 7-feet long. They have contoured cork handles and bronze reel seats. They break down into six pieces for transport.

What other equipment does Eagle Claw have?

The Eagle Claw brand started producing fishing hooks back in 1938. The characteristic hook takes its design from the claw of the eagle. Today, Eagle Claw tackle is sold all over the world but is still made and produced in the United States. Also sold with the same brand name are fishing equipment and fishing accessories, such as tip repair kits, clamp-on rod holders, spin reels, fly reels, fillet knives, and ice fishing gear.
