The 1864 $10 Confederate note was printed by Keating & Ball, Columbia, SC on white paper with varying shades or pink/red overprint, the reverse is printed in blue ink. The center vignette displays horse drawn artillery along with R.M.T. Hunter at lower right who served as Secretary of State. The note is payable two years after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States and the United States. These notes were all hand signed and cut by hand by mostly women who were employed by the Confederacy during the war. A very popular and affordable Confederate design! We have recently purchased and certified a group of notes from an old time collection and have multiple notes of the same grade. You may not receive the exact note pictured but you will recieve a similar one that is graded PMG 58 EPQ.
This blazing example has bold vivid color, sharp edges & corners & perfect margins. There are no pinholes, tears or ink writing. A beautiful note from a very tough to find district fit for the best of collections.

Likewise, color is important. Better trim that many. These are harder to find in this grade than people thought and much rarer than their 1864 counterparts. A note about 3rd party grading. The T-59 was printed on white paper and has a back.
