Despite the small nick in the medallion, there was an additional defect where the medallion meets the red glaze of mug. This is not something that anyone did pursay; it's a glaze defect period. It could have been mentioned. The high cost to ship this item was very disappointing (Ebay's issue/not seller). The seller did her best and packed this up beautifully. The medallion with the cherub & flowers is stunning; this makes up for nick and defect. Seller was kind and helpful.
