Serves my needs and good product for the $50 cost.
I bought this mobile hotspot to see if I could get internet at home as well as on a trip and if it could replace my DSL through the local phone company as well as the land line. Initially it dropped connection often and I bought a new battery. I've found this rarely happens if I keep it plugged in all the time. In three weeks of using the hotspot exclusively I get good connection and mostly works well for my needs. It's not as fast as the DSL and part of that could be that I live in rural New Mexico and sometimes even cell phone reception isn't great. If I want to watch YouTube or some other video I often have to connect and then stop it and let it load the whole thing or it keeps stopping and buffering. I pay $50/month to Verizon for 5GB but as I bought this on ebay I'm not tied to a Verizon 2-year contract. This had been sufficient for me and if I can cancel the landline and internet which costs about $75/month I'll be ahead and will also have portable internet.Read full review...
Disappointed, not worth the money
The Verizon hot spot unit works well in areas that you get good cell phone service. But when you live in a rural area, it doesn't work that well, it was very frustrating try to use it. I am very disappointed in the cell phone companies that don't consider customers that live in rural area are that important to their business.Read full review...
No complaints at all!
This mobile hotspot works great. I just wish I hadn't waited so long to get faster internet at my house. I'm very happy with it and would buy another.
Nice but not as good as a land line.
The product would be perfect if it came with a way to improve the signal strength. In some cases I have to move the device to a window to get a good connection. There is no signal meter like a cell phone, so it's a guess sometimes.Read full review...
