The Nintendo DS is one of the best handhelds with great games to back it up

It has one of the largest selection of handheld games, with countless hits. Extremely easy to use and very durable. One of my favorite handhelds of all time.

Great product for the money for DS games!

I was wanting a DS system that wasn't too expensive and this one fit the bill. There are a few games out there I wanted to play and they were for the DS so I found this. It was an excellent price and in great condition. Cheapest I have found. Others for the price were broken or in very very poor condition and should be classified as broken. This one is perfect except for one little dot where the stylus was pressed too hard. It works like its brand new, plays all the DS games I have bought so far, battery life is great, its just a wonderful system if you dont want all the fancy bells and whistles the newer DS systems have. Only thing I find annoying is you have to use WEP or unsecure networks for Wifi. No one uses WEP anymore. It's too easy to hack. WAY too easy. A lot of newer routers don't even support WEP anymore. If you want an easy way to do it and still have your secured network, there is a USB product you can buy that makes your computer or laptop a "Hotspot" so your DS can connect. But, its in the $30-$50 range. Overall I give this system 4.5 to 5 stars though. Great gameplay.Read full review...

Perfect for the boys

My son's, 4 and 9, love their DS systems. They are durable, and not flimsy like the newer ones. I like that the system is set up for both types of games. It allows them to hold on to the older games and still opens them up to the newer ones.Read full review...

Large fun in a small package!

Purchased this unit used for a little over half of what a new one would have cost. My 6 year old daughter had to have this because her friend had one, enough said about that. Received the unit to find it was in "like new" condition, it was very easy to get started, basic charge and go. I had not purchased any of the games at this point so it was limited as to what one could do other than simple writing and drawing practices. I was very impressed with the display quality and the many functions. A couple of days later I purchased a "Hello Kitty" game for this unit which my daughter just loves. She and her friend have hours of fun with these as one of it's features is a chat system where they can communicate with one another via wireless built into these units. If you have wifi internet nearby you can also download new games over the internet and communicate with others similar to a PC.

Pros: lite-weight and compact/nice display/ great features

Cons: games can get expensive if buying new

All-in-all was very pleased with this unit and my daughter is happy for now, until the next new gadget comes along.

Great Value for Money

Purchased the DS for grandson's Christmas gift. He loves it! Nice big buttons, simple to use, he's only 8 years old. Little brother now wants one. Looks sturday & durable which is necessary. Big enough it will be easy (hopefully) to find when they misplace it. Bright blue color will be helpful too. I purchased a refurbished one at a much lower price than a new one and grandson didn't even notice it was not new. I am very happy with the purchase.Read full review...

The Nintendo DS employs innovative dual-screen games!

The Nintendo DS employs innovative dual-screen and microphone-enabled gameplay without load times on a higher-resolution display than Game Boy Advance SP while remaining backward compatible with older GBA games. The inclusion of Wi-Fi multiplayer capabilities and a touch screen allows for a growing list of original and fun games that you can't play on any other system.Read full review...

Reasons why I recommend this game system

I love that I can play the Game boy Advance games on this system along with the DS games. I bought it to keep myself busy while in waiting rooms, but I find myself playing it just for fun. The battery lasts a long time between recharges. I've had it off the charger for 5 days while turned off, and it was still full strength. Also I've played it for about 15 hours before needing to recharge it. The screen is a little small compared to the new model game systems, but you can see it clearly and the graphics are fine. Here are some reasons why I recommend this system: The DS Lite is lighter weight and thinner then the original DS. It is portable, and it fits into a large pocket or a purse. The buttons are easy to reach, even a child's hands should be able to reach the buttons. You can set the screen brightness to dim or bright with 4 different settings. And the older games are much less expensive to buy. I don't spend a lot of money on myself, but I am glad I bought this system. It was worth the money and I am very happy with it.Read full review...
