Motorola Droid 3 XT862; Good camera, nice screen

This camera is very sturdy, and a little bit heavy, it is only 3G, but has a SIM card slot for foreign network compatibility (good traveler's phone!)

The screen is large and the rear camera is of adequate quality, but the front camera is lacking (like most phones!)
The slide out keyboard is nice when you don't want to fight with the touchscreen to get the exact edit you need, but it is not consistently backlit. Sometimes the keyboard buttons are lit, but often times they aren't.

The phone gets has given great signal performance using PagePlus service, using the Verizon Network. I have often times placed calls from the side of the mountain (25miles away, but in line of sight with cell towers, I imagine,

You can't beat this phone for the quality you get price!

Okay first phone

These were replacement phones till my contract ran out. They were very slow, would freeze multiple times and shut off repeatedly. I knew they were cheap but thought they would work for a few months. They are of very poor quality. They were not 4/g as stated. I would not recommend these phones for smartphone users.Read full review...

The best smartphone I have had by far.

My Husband got me this phone for my birthday. I got it on Christmas Eve. I love it. It has good battery life. I was having to charge my G'Zone Commando phone four to five times a day. And, The notification ringtone stopped working. And, It would turn itself off and on at times. With the Motorola Droid 3 xt862, the Google play store uses a good bit of the battery when you are downloading apps using Wi-Fi. This is the first Motorola Droid phone I have had. I love it. It's an awesome phone!Read full review...

great product, bought used, little signs of ware. functions like its supposed to.

The overall product is a decent piece. It is very user friendly with a bright screen that's touch and also includes a full slider qwerty pad. As a used product it shows low signs of ware, the only cons of this product is that the battery life is only fair and the sliding function is a bit more stiff from usual or normal functionality.Read full review...

Great product

I bought this for my mom instead of the mp3 player she had asked for because this can be used as an mp3 player and it is a great introduction to smart phones. The cost was about half the price as a name brand mp3 player and 10x the functionality. I set up pandora and iheart radio as well as email facebook and all the other essential apps through a wifi connection and it runs great! The phone is not activated so wifi is required but thats is the case with all non activated phones. This phone also has a qwert which i didnt think much of but my mom really liked because according to her the touch sceen just isnt the same.Read full review...

Great back up phone.

I had one already. I Love the slide out full key board. Bought this one as a back up as full keyed phones are getting hard to obtain. Either the price is outragous or the handset is incompatable with my service provider. I'd buy another if it were available...Read full review...

summarize...???? glad i made the purchase....!

Good phone, great price. My step up from a "flip-phone".
I got this model because it has the "real keyboard"...
but the touch screen keyboard is easy to use, i find i
use it more than i thought i would. This seems to be fast
and easy to use.

Great phone with physical keyboard, smooth interface

I love this phone. It's 3G so it works with Page Plus (4G phones do not work with PP). The screen is actually nicer and it operates smoother than my Samsung stratosphere. In fact after using it for 2 days my wife decided it was her phone and sold her iphone 4S.

I also noticed a better sound quality than other phones I have had in the past. It seems like maybe they do some DSP processing to make it sound more natural than with other cell phones.

About the only downside is that the keyboard is kind of cheap, the Stratosphere keyboard wins hands down. This keyboard needs a firm, deliberate touch, and some keys need more pressure than others.

I like the HDMI output too - I have not used it yet but I'm looking forward to watching HD movies on the big screen.

Another thing I like is the Outlook push email works well on this phone - emails arrive within seconds. On my stratosphere they always take 15 minutes orso to show up, or whatever the interval is set to. This is normal for IMAP/POP accounts but Exchange accounts should be instant. You can use email as IM and save on the text messaging plan. And, email will also work in wifi-only zones whereas text will not.

The Android version 2.3 is aging so some newer apps will not work on it. Most of them work fine though.
