not a very good phone

I've had this phone a few times and the slide out keyboard becomes very loose very quickly. the touch screen starts to mess up and starts making calls on its own. it can not old many apps and is not compatible with much apps because the android version is so old. its good for using if you just make calls and texts.Read full review...

Great backup phone or for first time Android users!!!

I purchased this phone as an interim phone while I waited for my HTC ONE. It was a great backup phone. It only has a 2.1 Android operating system so you are limited with what you can do. It is a basic phone with very limited memory, like I said it was just a back up phone. I love the keyboard feature and I would like to see that on other better models. Also the phone is VERY durable, because I dropped it too many times to count and had no issues.Read full review...

If you need a keyboard phone like I do HTC is still by far the best choice.

I'm very familiar with HTC as I've had the T-Mobile MyTouch 4G Slide phone for over 2 years. I
needed a 2nd phone and found this company called Freedompop. I thought it was too good to be true.>For FREE they'll give you 200 minutes/month, 500
texts/month and 500 MB of data. Only certain older
Sprint phone models will work, and they only sell
2 refurbished models, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC EVO 4G, which is the same phone as the EVO
Shift 4G without the slideout keyboard. So I called them and they gave me the list of the few additional BYOD phones(bring your own device.) I got the EVO Shift brand new on eBay for less then a refurbished EVO from FreedomPop. They obviously
use Sprint service and as I'm at a computer most
of the day and use mainly WiFi I could probably get away with their service as my only phone. They
have a plan where you pay $110.00 for 24 months of
service. That's less then $5.00/month, like $4.58.
That plan is unlimited talk and text and 500 MB of
data. You can buy extra data for 2.5 cents/MB, which comes out to $25.00/GB. So for $29.58/month
you could have the unlimted talk, text, and 1.5 GB
of data. Any more then that and you might as well
be on T-Mobile. Their $50.00 plan is unlimted talk
text and data, 2G speeds after the 1st 500 MB. But
they include mobile hotspot in all their plans, including the only carrier to do so with their prepaid plans. $10.00 more, or $60.00 will get you
2.5 GB of 4G with unlimited 2G. The $70.00 plan is
the best in the industry. Unlimited 4G for the phone and 2.5 GB of mobile hotspot for your iPad, laptop, etc. Right now FreedomPop can't transfer
numbers, which is fine with me as I wanted it as a 2nd phone. I have to have a keyboard phone and
have tried them all. HTC makes the best quality and most user friendly phones I've come across in all of the carriers. Also, no longer buy an Android phone with an OS older then 2.3(Gingerbread). 2.2(Froyo) and older are no longer
supported by 90% of the apps in the Google Play store. The key is that the HTC EVO phones, the 4G,
the Shift, the 3D, and the Design are upgradeable
from 2.2(Froyo) to 2.3(Gingergread). Once in a while with 2.3 I'll run into an app that needs at least 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich). But very rarely. Obviously due to the incredible pricing you can't
get LTE service, why they use older models. But if
you're on wifi as much as I am or it's for a 2nd
phone you're not using the LTE anyway. My fingers
are just too large and I can't be without the slideout keyboard. LG now has an LTE phone for both T-Mobile and Verizon that has the slideout keyboard. Very surprised they're so rare these days. But even adding the $100.00 for the phone to
the $110.00 for the 2 years of service that's $210.00 for 24 months of service. That raises your
price from $4.58/month to $8.75/month. My $50.00
plan costs me over $200.00 in just 4 months. Like
getting 20 months for free. For right now I took the free plan as I'm not giving up my phone number
and I want to try it out before making it my sole
phone. So 200 minutes, 500 texts and 500 MB of 4G
data is plenty for a 2nd phone while I still have
my T-Mobile phone. And you can't beat free. For sure.Read full review...

Review for HTC EVO Shift 4G - 2GB - Black (Sprint) Smartphone

The phone was in very good condition and I received it in good time. It was a gift so I can't more about it.

Good smartphone and great value from Ebay.

Pretty good smartphone. It is much better than the Samsung Transform Ultra I switched out of. It has a much longer battery life and easy to use features. I like it.

Good phone! Lacks front facing camera but great battery life. Outdated

This is a good phone if you are on a budget. It is not the most powerful ( 3D games can't always be ran on full settings) but it is definitely not "slow". Battery life is VERY impressive. I can get 5-6 hours playing games and using WiFi to surf the internet.

If you are thinking of getting this phone, chech some of you other options first. The Galaxy S line of phones are serious contenders. One thing I dislike about this phone is it doesn't have a front facing camera. Also keep in mind the screen is very small.

Serves all my needs

Great Phone! All the features you need in right priced phone. Highly recommended! Texting is easy with the QWERTY keyboard and web surfing is FAST in 4G mode. It is slim and stylish. Play music downloads at virtually no buffer rate and good sound and volume capabilities. All around I would give this 4.5 stars and is an inexpensive alternative to compare with the very high priced phones out there. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget.Read full review...

Good product!

I buy it becasue of the keyboard, becasue it's easily to type on it as on touch screen. That is very important for me.
I like this phone and there is nothing that I dislike on it, except maybe more languages to select. But this phone is more or less for US market, so it is understandable for so small selection.
Compare to others is this phone quite good. True that some of them are more efficient, but they are also yunger then this HTC.
