Simple to Use Basic GPS

I was looking for value and really found it in this unit, $22 including shipping. It does not speak street names and have a lot of fancy features. It just says "turn left in 500 feet" or "turn left". It works great for getting you from point A to point B. Based on using it for a couple of months now, it seems to give good routes. The screen is bright and easy to view. The points of interest database is somewhat dated, but I knew that going in. I think I could update for free if I wanted; however, I am just as content to go online with my iPhone to search out some point of interest and then just enter the address into the GPS - no problem. I have had no issues or complaints with this GPS. Perfect for me - very happy for $22!Read full review...

Outdated

This model is too outdated for my taste. It takes awhile to find the signal. It is not easy to type on this device. Also the directions are very general and not specific at all. For example it just says "turn left, then turn right." I had a Garmin a few years back that had the 3D display as well as specific street names and highways. Skip this one.Read full review...

Better than 75% so far.

The fancier ones have been junk so far, and the co's I purchased them from. This inexpensive little Garmin has been dependable so far and if it works for a year, I'll consider myself lucky for a inexpensive investment.Read full review...

For its purchase price, The Garmin nuvi 205W worked exactly as expected.

This is a good working unit. Response was slower than GPS navigation in my older model HTC android cell phone. Setup and navigation settings are ok, but, are not as user friendly as the Android or IGO. I expect newer Garmin models have changed that slightly. Once you have used it, you are fine. This was standard when manufactured. It has safety theft feature. Can turn off and on automatically if left plugged into lighter outlet. Since its data was accurate when purchased, I did not try and upgrade software. System reset and Satellite location was executed without error.Read full review...
