Michigan State Spartans Tickets

The Michigan State Spartans played their initial season of college football in 1896 and currently play in the Big Ten Conference since 1950. Michigan State has earned six national titles, with the last one being claimed in 1966. The Spartans have won seven conference titles, including the 2010 Big Ten Conference championship.

Despite all of the success Michigan State has had as a team, they have never had an individual player who has won the Heisman Trophy. However, Michigan State has had 28 Consensus All-Americans play for them over the years, including Brad Van Pelt and Charles Rogers, among others.

Spartan Stadium Tickets, Home of Michigan State

Spartan Stadium is home to the Michigan State Spartans since 1923. The stadium currently seats 75,005, and a record crowd of 80,401 attended a 1990 meeting with No. 1 Notre Dame that ended with a 20-19 Fighting Irish victory. The Spartans won 19 straight home games from 1950-53.

In 2001, an ice hockey match against Michigan was played in Spartan Stadium. The 74,554 attendants set a world record for that sport.

Michigan State Spartans Conference

While the in-state rivalry game with the Michigan Wolverines is important to Michigan State and its fans, the Paul Bunyan-Governor of Michigan Trophy takes a backseat to its Notre Dame rivalry. Despite Notre Dame leading the series 31-26-1, MSU won 34-31 in 2010 with a fake field goal in the fourth quarter.

The most notable game in the series is the 1966 matchup known as the "Game of the Century." Michigan State entered the game ranked second in the nation, just behind Notre Dame. After a defensive contest, both teams left the field in a 10-10 tie.
