Vintage Snare Drums

Ludwig Supra-Phonic 5"X14" 10 lug chrome snare drum. Serial no.-552142. Date stamp is Nov.3 says it is a 1967. The muffler is a early 70's. There is some rust and pitting from normal wear but nothing to bad.

For sale is a Kent 5x14 Snare Drum in a red sparkle wrap. This is in rough shape but could be fixed up. It is still playable. The wrap has scratches and some discoloration. Hoops and hardware have rust and pitting.

For sale is a 1960's Whitehall 5.5x14 Snare Drum in a blue sparkle wrap! This drum is in great shape. Has only minor scratches in the finish. Hoops and hardware have small amounts of rust and pitting.

This is a Japanese made 5.5x14 Snare Drum in White Strata wrap. There is a lot of discoloration to the wrap. Hoops and hardware have minor rust and pitting. Batter side hoop has a dent/warp. Head still seats ok.

Blue Olive Badge # 1740300. LUDWIG RED SPARKLE SUPERSENSITIVE SNARE DRUM. The snare mechanism works. Tension rods are not original. There are holes for a leg rest. Rims have dings and plating wear/rust.

This has scratches in the wrap but no lifting or bubbling. Hoops and hardware have pretty minor rust and pitting. Muffler is working great! Throw off has been rigged. It does function but be careful as it snaps back hard if it doesn't engage fully!

SLINGERLAND SNARE DRUM. This is a used Slingerland snare drum. There is plating wear and dings on the rims and lugs. Shell has scratches on it. The badge is mostly gone. Snare wires are not original.

Throw, muffler and bridge work perfectly. Shows very little wear for a snare drum of this age no dents just some misc. The hoops have some very small spots of rust here and there, very hard to see the lugs and throw have some micro pitting, the snare frame has some replacement parts it works perfectly and still has height adjustments.

From the 1960's this is a Slingerland Gene Krupa model 5x14 Chrome over Brass Snare Drum! This has some minor rust, pitting, and dents in the shell. This has steel hoops which also have a little rust and pitting.

I think this is barely enough for 5" depth snare drums. All pictures were taken indoor, without flash and one is against direct sun to see transparency of wrap. This is NOT adhesive wrap. Those measures are useful measures, because it is slightly bigger but have some scratches on edges.

Rogers 5X14 Dynasonic Snare Drum. Puresound Dynasonic snare wires. Chrome hardware is in great overall condition. Some slight pitting or marks on a few of the lugs. Some light marks on the rims from use.

About 6 3/8 from bottom rim to top. Hardware and rims have some pitting/spotting but drum is quite nice. Heads need replacing.

LUDWIG SILVER SPARKLE SNARE DRUM. The top rim looks bent. There is no badge. Drum has holes for the leg rest. The wrap has lifted. 15" diameter. 12" deep.

Chicago Badge # 3106323. This is a used Ludwig marching snare drum. Wrap has scuffs, scratches, and cracks on it. There is plating wear and dings on the rims and lugs. There is no carrier included.

This snare is in good shape but is missing both batter and resonant heads. The snare wires are all present but show some oxidation. Made in Japan 1960's. The shell and hoops are round, all of the lugs/tension rods are present and functional, and the throw is in good shape.

From the 1980's, this is a Tama Granstar 6.5x14 Chrome Over Birch Snare Drum! Made in Japan. The deep shell gives plenty of warm, full bodied tone while having the crisp attack of birch. The chrome does have a lot of scratches.

This is a 8 lug Snare. The drum is in good condition and is in perfect working order. Great sounding snare, perfect for any application. All the parts are mostly original except the heads and wires.

It is used and shows wear. There is a dent shown in picture 4 and 5. - Most“PRE-OWNED” instruments are sold “AS IS”; meaning that work isprobably needed and usually sold in the condition that we received it in.
