Japan Antique Chinese Boxes

Embossed Black-Silver Tone Metal Hinged Box ca 1900. the silver tone finish is worn. In good condition, shows some wear. Measures 1-1/3" tall, 3-1/3" long, 2-3/4" wide.

This is a very unusual wood lacquer jar or box. Has 3 fancy legs round with lid. Red with black inside, very thick raised gold bamboo scene. There are some slight scuffs to the edge of the lid and one of the legs is SLIGHTLY loose - not enough to move but has the red lacquer finish gone at the top of leg where joins the body of jar. Very good condition for the age of the piece, I am trying to describe any defects present but want emphasize that no major damage exists. The measurements : 4 1/2"w x 4 1/2"h , lid : 3 1/2"dia. legs are : 2"h. Don't see any makers mark. This piece is very beautiful and unique with the ornate legs and shape, much nicer than photos show.

Lid depicts a bird and snail on a leaf. Gold details (leaf veins, outlines, snail shell). OK, right off the bat, I don't know what this box is, where it's from, what it's made of, or how old it is. Here's what I do know.

Old and rare. Some are used Some are not. Check the pictures for exact quality. It is listed above and below for the 48 US states.

Beautiful Cloisonne Box from Illinois Estate. Alternating panels showing Phoenix Bird and Dragon. Found with some toothpicks inside. Inside is enameled Cobalt Blue. Bottom has an embossed makers mark.

Note: The hinge is a tiny bit loose and when the box opens the lid drops down a little too the left. But still can be used fine. Also the front left corner has a very tiny indent in the metal. The right front corner there is a small split in the metal.

Antique c1800's Oriental Mother of Pearl Inlay Lacquer wood sectional container box w/pull out sectional section. There is some minor wood peeling and wear, and separation on the pull out sectional container conducive to age and use but over all condition is EXCELLENT!

Heavy 1 lb. Turned Brass Bowl. with Engraved Lid. Estate sale find.I don't know what the original purpose this bowl was made for, but it's impressively heavy for its size! The bowl has some patina on the outside, but is shiny-pristine on the inside. possible used as a display item (?).
