Price is fantastic!
It is plug-in-and-play but, in my case, this model is not fully compatible with my 600D and only manual firing is avaliable, even so, I still get wireless shooting by switching modes on the unit.
Wireless flashes are always fussy when it comes to signals and this is no exception, it will be very hard to hide this flash unit and still have a good signal; best to use a radio trigger.
Light quality and spread is good and the diffuse option is a very nice touch that some up market units do not have.
This is easily much better over the lower cannon speedlights as it has more power, more options, rotates and looks the part. However, build quality doesn't escape the cheap feel.
You NEED batteries installed even if it goes directly on the hot shoe, probably due to the wireless design.
I have put battery life as good as I haven't been able to fully test them yet and there are far too many variables for a good verdict.
Strobing is not surpising and only the best flash units can keep up with cameras, what I do like is the fast recharge rate and consistancy.
Now to the company... Service was swift and professional but postage was an issue, being delivered on the far side of the scale at 5 weeks - I normally receive larger parcels in 2-3 weeks.
In the end I would use this as an excellent entry level flash unit or a backup, however, at this price they are extreamly hard to beat and if you have any doubts why not shoot in RAW and edit out the flaws?
It's a really good flash for the price. If using TTL it's not a priority for you it's a very smart choice.
Looks solid in construction, and has a nice power output selection, fast recovery, two slave modes, and it's a realy 33 guide number.
Downside: does not have TTL, and zoom, but again: for the price it's very good choice.
I choose this item because it's speed flash rotatable head so i can direct my flash light to any place to get the perfect picture lighting and i don't like that the flash don't have TTL mode so it's can take the light reading from the lens and the heavy wight
First I needed a cheap speedlight. It fitted somehow to my Nikons and that was an option I liked.
Anyway, the main use for this chinese exposure helper is with multiple flash triggering system. YongNuo works as the fourth flash unit in my system. And it carries that duty great.
The power source makes a slightly disturbing noise, but compared to price, I can manage with it. Easily.
Next time, looking for a new speedlight, I will check first, what YongNuo has to offer.
We had to remember how cheap this unit is. Maybe a thing I would do otherwise are those function keys. But they are not a problem for me.
I can recommend this product for photographer who needs an additional speedlight forexmple working as slave or for multiple exposures.
Very pleased with the flash. Will probably purchase another one. All manual so you need to be ready to fiddle with it and learn how to use it. Didn't know that it could also be triggered by other flashes which is pretty cool. Cheap way to get into flash photography.
I nedded and extra set of lights for background lightning. Such as high key photos and rimlight. And for that I don't need any fancy sppedlights with ttl. And for the price I payed for theese they are excellent. They get the job done and saves me a lot of money at the same time. Perfect!
Really good flash for this money. Easy to use, good quality and fuctional. One problem: have not TTL. But for this price....
Summary: needs to take. Few times/days for training and good shots guaranteed
Very nice flash... still learning how to use it. love the fact that is rotates and bends and has the diffuse and white balance card built right in. Great Product.,
Good second flash. The flash works like a master and a slave.
There is a diffuser and mount on a tripod
useful. battery cover could be better. very powerful flash. slave mode works quite well..................................................................
