I liked this book (not as much as I liked Seabiscuit).. very inspiring. Heavy reading, though. Had to put it down for a day or two after some of the prisoner of war chapters..
This book has a lot of detail about the war. Should be a war buff to read this. Or into war history.
We are in a book club and each of us thought the book was very sad at times and then very happy also. Everyone of us really was moved by his courage.
friend told me about the book. A little bit too much concerning the beatings and torture this man went through.
