The movie is definitely watchable. Not going to win any academy awards, but you aren't going to have that "I laughed, I cried, I kissed $14 bucks good-bye" feeling either. Now you have to take into account two things. 1. I am an avid movie fan. All genres for the last 60 years. 2. I am a comicbook collector for about 30 years. As a movie fan the story lacks depth but is entertaining. The movie is well cast Ken B is a good director, Acting heavy weights Hopkins and Portman play their parts well. New comer Hemsworth is a delightful surprise. It sets up The Avengers movie storyline. Overall, well done.
This was a great action movie, though there were a few cheesy scenes though I'm told that if I were to have followed the Thor comics I would not have found them cheesy. I enjoyed the movie, especially the fact that "sex" wasn't a part of this movie. By that I mean there were scantically clad women, overt focus of the camera on the chest or butt area, yet they managed to build up a relationship and there's a kiss, that's it. Though I'm sure for women they enjoyed the focus on Thor's muscular physique. Overall a great movie, I would let younger kids watch without much hesitation.
Thor was released as part of Marvel Movies "Stage 1" Films. this film was to establish the character Thor in the marvel movie universe.
The movie has an interesting split action between Asgaard (Thor's home) and Earth. It shows and tells the story of the Prince of Asgaard, Thor, as he learns his place in the universe.
A great movie, but it is a popcorn movie. Action and Action, not as much on storyline.
Thor has always been my favorite Avenger. While some of the scenery in this movie leaves much to be desired, there is nothing quite as breathtaking as Asgard. Thor and Loki are wonderful characters, and the movie is definitely worth watching.
We bought this after viewing it on my Kindle. The characters are very real and the acting is great. The actors fit their respective parts very well. I would recommend it to anyone who like the "comic" movies!
