I was looking for a good sewing machine, preferably a Singer because I know it will last and last. I know very little about sewing/sewing machines, and pretty much just fly by the seat of my pants when doing so, breaking all the 'rules' as I go along. So, I wanted something that was really user friendly, and didn't require me to read the manual 30 times before figuring out how to do something, since I'm the type that figures it out as I go along (even though it usually takes me 10 times longer to do something)
This machine was just that. The drop-in bobbin was so easy to figure out, as was winding a bobbin and threading it. Its lightweight and stores easily for those like me who don't have a sewing room/table to keep it out all the time. The manual you get with it is crap, though, which is okay for me since I never read them, but if you want to refer to something in it, you have to go by pictures only. I have yet to load the CDs that come with it, so I don't know what those actually do.
So far I am completely happy that I bought this machine. Its worth the money you'll spend since it will last forever (as Singers do) and its really simple to use, which means you'll actually use it and it won't sit around collecting dust.
Overall an excellent machine!
I bought this low price sewing machine to have around to do simple repairs around the house. As soon as I opened the box I was surprised in both the quality and the simplicity of operation. I had not used a sewing machine in 25 years, but after only a few minutes looking at the quick start guide I was set up and sewing.Controls and adjustments are easy to use,top load bobbin is great,as well as the auto needle threading.Still need to watch the instructional video, but i'm sure the rest of the many features of this machine will just as easy to learn and use.
My husband bought the 4220 model for me this Christmas. I hesitated to take it out of the box until I had done some online research to see if I'd keep it or take it back to the store. Most popular reviews said the needle hit on the plate and this scared me. After an experienced quilter friend of mine at work encouraged me to take the machine out and try it, I was convinced this machine is perfect for me.
She watched as my inexperienced hands loaded the bobbin with the automatic bobbin loader thingy and I threaded the machine BY MYSELF. I took out a piece of fabric and sewed on it and VOILÁ. No needle hitting problems. The stitches look beautiful. Since then, my 9 year old daughter has used it to make purses. My mom (who's an expert sewer) has used it to hem my kids' pants. I'm looking forward to getting some serious sewing projects going on with my new machine.
Oh, some people also mentioned that the pedal was sluggish. My mom asked if the machine had any power because she was pressing and it would go slow. I just said, "Step on it!" She did and it went! I think a pedal like that is better than an extra sensitive one. At least for safety reasons when my kids are using it.
Very best for home work. She have all of you need for sew new
clothes and repair. My grandmother has sewing machine “Singer”
since 1902 year, and then I was a little boy, I’m trying work on this.
Now I have the machine same name and I very happy.
I love my new sewing machine! It is easy to use, and I love the special features. It also came with DVDs that explain everything about the sewing machine.
I bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.
