Let's get the bad out of the way right up front - so we can move past it. The cut scenes and characters are really amateur hour junk. The story isn't too bad, it's a little vague... but the bad character design, graphics and voice-overs just mean you'll feel like skipping them and getting on to the game.
The game itself is phenomenal. Tight controls, great gameplay, smooth graphics (that look better than the cut-scenes by far), excellent camera angles and loads of variety.
It's sort of an "on rails shooter"... but your character isn't on rails, just the camera and movement through the levels. You move the character with the thumb stick and point with the remote so you can have maximum mobility and aim whereever you need to. You have loads of firepower and combine that with swift sword melee attacks when enemies get too close (or close enough). It's really a single player game, but a second player can pick up a separate Wii-mote and point and shoot a second gun (no second player character appears on the screen and player 2 has no powers... they're just there to give player 1 a little more firepower.
This game is HARD. Really Hard. But that's a good thing. There are plenty of autosave checkpoints, so the dying doesn't get too annoying. When you finally improve your skills enough to pass each boss, you'll do a celebratory fist-pump and get a nice rush of adrenalyn. This also made for great replay value and I wanted to go again. The entire story takes about 6 to 7 hours of straight play.
Video gaming is back.
I bought Sin and Punishment because I'm a big fan of rail-shooters. This might be the best rail-shooter game I have ever played. The action is intense and fast-paced. It's the first time I've ever had to use strategy in a rail-shooter game (because you can also use a melee attack with a plasma-sword-thing). Not to mention it's the only rail-shooter I've ever played that isn't first person, so you have to control your character and move him/her out of danger while aiming and shooting at your target. The game is amazing, I wish that I had purchased it sooner.
classic on rail shooters are few and far between these days, and this one's a keeper. get if you like fast paced, old school shooters with amazing boss fights. worth the time to pick up and enjoy.
it is a Japanese version game, but it is awesome for game play (in wii version that is). I bought it because it was cheaper on eBay then at game stop or what not. There are 2 characters and both have different personality and need to defeat some group called the Nebulex. its a fun game and i recommend to my friends that you should buy it.
p.s.:its rated T for teen and is $33-$45 in local stores, including game stop.
This is a classic shooter with a classic score multiplier and roots of original gaming. Stayed true to the original cult classic and is a amazing installment in the groundbreaking series.
one of the best shooters I am about third of the way through the
game and love so far sure the ending will be great highly recommend.
