I've bought several Sansa Fuze primarily to listen to audiobooks. The buggy native audio software is best worked around by using MSC mode. They're useless for video as the Sansa Media Converter required to convert video files to Sansa Fuze compatibility does not, in fact, work. The Sansa Fuze Plus I just bought is vitually unusable as its touch screen technology constantly (accidentally) re-starts the audiobook from page 1. Re-finding your place is next to impossible. Gave up and bought a cheap Coby MPS player and it works great at half the price. Sansa Fuze has never EVER gotten its software to function. If it had it would dominate the market. Too bad.
I couldn't believe all the bad reviews for this product so I just had to try it out to see what it was all about. I have had three different Sansa MP3 players and they all far exceeded my expectations. Quality of music, battery life, easy of use and logical layout, all areas were beyond excellent. Admittedly,I bought this used ( and I'm glad I did because had I paid full retail for this turkey I would be REALLY,REALLY angry)but I can't see as how that would affect the software performance, failure to accept the latest updates from the Sansa website or the horrid touch pad performance. Sometimes if you barely touch it will jump through several menus and other times no matter how hard you rap on it,it just laughs at you and does nothing. Getting my music onto it in a way that I can find the artist or album I want to listen to is so frustrating I have given up on it entirely. Expensive and not very attractive or functional paperweight. Stay with your old edition Fuze. One positive about this player is that it would make a terrific suprise gift for your most hated enemy!! I hope Sansa pays attention to all the negative reviews and complaints to their customer service dept. and recall's this POS and sends everyone a new, original Fuze to make up for the waste of time and money.
I have persevered with this heap of * for too long already. It’s going in the bin and I’m buying a cheap Bush MP3 player. I already had the Sansa Fuze which was easy to use and did the job but after a couple of years, the battery wasn’t lasting very long so I bought the Fuze Plus. I wish I hadn’t. It takes about 10 seconds to boot up and load and comes on in pause mode, so you have to wait those 10 seconds and then press the play button. I also hate not having a positive touch to navigate around the menus. The menus are very difficult to get to, and it keeps getting stuck in a loop of the same 10 songs, or it picks a certain letter and only plays artists beginning with that letter. If you’re driving when it does that, you’re either stuck with it or you have to pull over to try to get it to rethink. Total rubbish.
It certainly is feature packed and cheap BUT the thing just does not work. The software is junk, the interface is terrible but at the price you can say "I got what I paid for". The bad part is that in two weeks the thing stopped working altogether. Just a crashed piece of useless junk. now I didn't even get what I paid for. Had a similar experience with the Sansa Clip Zip and I am feeling quite the fool to think that this would have been any better.
I understand that in the world of all the new, cool, digital media players, a company needs to be on the bandwagon when it comes to design... but Sansa really missed the mark on this one.
I bought this to use when I work out. I need to be able to move to the next song or go from FM radio to my music asap, but with this, you have to stop, look at what you are doing, make sure its correct, try again, and again.
They tried to make the navigation something similiar to the iPod, however they failed horribly! The touch pad on this stinks to high heaven! Its not responsive, and takes many trys to swipe, tap, touch your way into what you want. I was really disappointed because I had the Sansa Fuse with the cicular navigation, and LOVED it. I am going to try to sell this one and see if I can make enough money to buy one of the the older ones.
The touch control feature is very agrivating. It is aways doing something I don't want it to do. The button controls on the old model was a better system.
to be honest with you ,i like the the other model better ,because its more easy to use ,besides the battery last or only a couple the hour totally charged ,the touch scream is terrible,i will give a o points ,is totally wasted ,i prefer the ,other one better ,don waste your money buying this ,
I bought this hoping Sanza fixed the jack problem they have with the Fuze (I'm on my third Fuze) and I like the Sanza Radio Slot player. Navigating the Fuze + is very difficult because the touchscreen is irresonsive and mine just stopped playing and produced a loud hidious buzz. That is when I gave up and sent it back.
i hate this thing!.... it is so sensitive to touch it skips and jumps everywhere
i bought it after looking for ages.. the screen is so small for videos.. maybe it is my age i dont think i like touch screen.. oh well too bad! i made a mistake... i wish i could sell it i even bought chargers and protective screen and rubber cover for it...
did not receive usb cable with it though it said on the box that it was concluded. they tried to tell me that it wasn't. trying to download anything on this thing is almost impossible. it came with no directions in it as to how to use it. my old one was a sansa that's why i bought one. i was perfectly happy with that one except it died on me. oh and they would not let me return the product. not a happy camper here!
