Attractive design although a little "bulky". Not having camera or Bluetooth, makes it just a MP4 player like others just bigger.
Not having a clip of some sort to hold it is a minus. The headset that comes with it is ridiculous.
Easy setup and good sound quality. Not tested with video just yet. The FM radio is a plus.
The touch pad is a little annoying, specially if you are working-out and sweating. It not always follows your command.
Overall, it is a good product and will do the job.
I have owned and used Sansa Fuze players for several years, and bought this one for the greater memory capacity. While it does have some improvements from previous models, they also made it worse in some other ways. Here is the good and the bad of it.
GOOD. Bigger video screen and higher resolution capability make video viewing much better. The greater memory capacity is always welcome. I also think the sound quality is slightly improved.
BAD: The old wheel navigation was way better than this new swipe system. And what happened to the hold button? Finding a particular item is nowhere near as easy as it was on the older model as the menus are not nearly as comprehensive or intuitive.
I am disappointed when I find a manufacturer lessens the value of a product, and Sansa has done that in some ways with this new Fuze. Nonetheless, it remains a solid value and well worth the money.
Aside from the touchpad which takes a learning curve because it can be slow responsive at times, it is quite nifty. Great memory, external memory slot as well. Radio has great reception. Video quality is pretty good, at least for a player this size. Sound is pretty good, even the stock earbuds are pretty decent. Recording mic is high quality, but it's recommended to download the firmware update to fix the sound clipping. But it even comes with a case. Pretty satisfied.
Bought this product as I had a Sansa clip; great upgrade! Controls are hard to get used to, and submenus for music are like an impossible maze (3 weeks of ownership). Battery life is insanely amazing. Also, there was a firmware glitch that caused voice and fm recording blips, this can be solved by changing firmware (google it). I like the fact that you can add memory to it too. Mainly bought it as a music player, but the fact that it can do video and photos is awesome. I recommend buying a good case for this as it can get scratched easily due to its interface
I bought this when I lost my previous player. I listen mostly to audiobooks so I wanted one that I could stop listening anywhere in the book and listen to something else and when I came back it would remember where I left off in that book. I am able to do this with multiple books. It is great. The fast forward, rewind and other "touch" controls are a little challenging but it works eventually. The battery last a long time and I would definitely recommend this player to other audio book listeners.
High Output Power steering.
Having MickroSD slot.
Using the standard mickroUSB port.
The computer is recognized as a removable drive.
Ability to set RockBox.
High capacity battery.
An eerie touch control.
Inconvenient administration in the original firmware (put RockBox).
had early versions of sansa and this new version is slower to navigate through songs but has a bigger screen. still a great value for the price and easy to add more memory too.
I am not a fan of Apple, so I am always looking for alternatives to the i-whatevers. This device is pretty sweet. It could use a few things like a lock button (there is a lock feature but it's frustrating to get into and out of) and a volume limit control - something ideal for when you're kids are using it and you don't want them blasting their eardrums. Otherwise I like this product. I love that it works with Windows Media Player and I love that I can add extra storage by Mirco SD cards. Finally, a device that can hold most of my music and has room for more! I think I'll stick with SanDisk for a while, might even upgrade to the 32 GB one and then pass this one down to the kiddos.
Helps that I got it for under $60 brand new. Yay Ebay. Overall I am glad I picked this MP3 player, what it lacks in features my laptop/nook/smartphone makes up for. It is exactly what it should be and no more, which is great. Simplicity in the MP3 market is one thing the competition lacks.
This is definitely worth the buy... I came from using the first generation Sansa Fuze which has been a blast and perfect for those looking for an mp3 player without all the hype. The only thing that takes getting used too is the flat surface buttons used to navigate throughout the mp3 player itself.. Its touch sensitive isn't soooo sensitive which isn't really a downside considering how many touchscreens have the problem of being too sensitive... The only reason why I am mentioning it is because its kind of a step down from the navigation wheel from the first onew in my opinion... Other than that.. If you don't need all the hype that comes with the Ipod.... This is the best thing!!!!!!!!!
MY wife is still trying to figure out the features the display is good the sound quality is good but making up the playlist seem complicated
