You can Go Ape over Planet of the Apes

I remember the shock this movie induced when I saw it for the first time at age 12. How these talking ape men so caught on so well as to spawn 10 sequels I'll never know (and why Charlton Heston signed on for this loser), but the ape movies have become a part of American culture. Forty years later, I view the "masterpiece" as simply stupid. (Well, it was intended to have an anti-war, anti-conservative moral to it, but the whole thing still definitely qualifies as just plain stupid) Even so, it's now a "classic". I you have time to waste because you have no real life of your own, go back and revisit this, the first of the ten Planet of the Apes movies. You may go ape over Planet of the Apes!
