Love... the amp is smart! It can be triggered to go on when you turn on anything you plug into it. It can take an audio input from a RCA cable plugged into my iPhone. If the iPhone is not turned on, it will take the audio input from one of two other sources and output them to one or two sets of speakers. It can also relay the signal to another AMP so you can chain the music from a primary amp to this one and when you get bored with what your spouse is playing on the "Whole House" sound system, you can turn on your ipod and listen to your own music in the zone that the Niles powers instead. This is a cool gadget. It can even trigger closing your blinds and raising your TV, etc.
Cons... not a total no-brainer out of the box. You need to know how to adjust the sensitivity (using a small screw driver) for the automatic power-on feature. Not hard to do if you can read a 2 page instruction book. I think the reason it was sold on eBay is that the person who purchased it new was expecting it to just read his mind.
Small and powerful, no frills. Just clean stereo power. With a flat screen, HD cable box, and two Cambridge SoundWorks in-wall Ambience 82 speakers this system rivals my Marantz/CSW 5.1 in every way at 1/5 the price. One-touch on/off. NO switching of inputs or sources.
