The D3100 has a very good noise profile; it matches (and perhaps bests) the current leader in the budget dSLR category, the Pentax K-x. It produces exceptionally clean JPEGs up through ISO 800 and very usable ones through ISO 3200. (Adobe Camera Raw doesn't yet support the D3100 and Nikon Capture NX 2 doesn't provide sufficiently granular enough noise reduction for me to do raw versus JPEG comparisons). The camera delivers excellent color reproduction in its default SD mode as well--a nice change from some overly saturation-pushing competitors like Pentax and Sony--and its metering and exposure system work reliably and well.
For the price not a bad camera. If you look around you can get it new for around $350.00 with 18 to 55 VR lens. The worst thing about the camera is it has a slow Processor. It's a very good camera for a beginner.
I bought the Nikon D3100 because I love photography. As a beginner I wanted to experience this new world with an instrument that can deliver. The lenses are also a plus I love it. This is why I invested my money in this camera.
I can't say enough good about this camera...I Love it!! AND what was awesome is how much you get with the camera for the price paid. Compared to other places definately a great buy. I have been taking pics a lot and totally awesome pics. I recommend to all looking for a great camera
I thought that it was a great buy but weeks later things are not working on the camera.
this was a graduation gift for my daughter and it makes me sad that it is not working correctly and I am going to have to spend more money to take it to get repaired.
I'm not familiar with this product, because I have not bought it, because when choosing a product I mistakenly chose him, and so we had to cancel the order.
