This camera is the best out there for the money features and performance way above others in the field. Picture clarity and easy functions this is the way to go you dont have to be a pro photographer to take great pictures with this camera. If your in the market compare them all but youll find as we did quality and price Nikon rules the field.
I have only had this camera a few days and I absolutely love it. It's pretty straight forward and easy to use and takes unbelievably beautiful pictures. I've never owned a Nikon camera before so this is a first and so far so good. I used to only buy Kodak but their cameras never seem to last.
The only complaint if you can call it that, is that it takes "AA" batteries, but once I buy up some rechargeable ones I don't think it'll be so bad.
I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a much nicer point and shoot type camera.
I have used a small HP 5mp point and shoot for about 5 years now, and it was time to upgrade. I wanted something that could take very nice pictures but be very easy to use, this one was exactly both of those. Ive been using it almost every day for a few weeks now and still have yet to find anything I dont like about it. Its extremely easy to navigate through. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one or to suggest it as your next camera, especially if you are on a budget. You can zoom like crazy, while still having great quality, you can also take very close up pictures. Battery life seems to be pretty good too. Fits real nice in your hand too. A+++ buy all around.
I bought this camera specifically to take product photos, and so far it's working out really nice. There's a newer model out already (the L120), and I'm guessing this is why I got such a great deal on this older model; but this one has all the features I need and a whole lot more ... more than I'll probably ever have the opportunity to use in fact. Most all of the functions have an automatic setting, but can be tweaked and overridden as necessary. I still haven't used a lot of the really specialized functions, but the pictures I've taken so far are really incredible in terms of the quality. Also, I might mention that the camera I purchased is a factory reconditioned model (i.e., not brand-new), but there's no way to tell that as far as I can see (except for a little note indicating such) ... not a scratch or blemish on it. In any case, I'd recommend this unit to anyone looking for a full-function camera.
I got this camera on ebay for less than 200.00. I am very happy with the bang for the buck. It's fairly fast, sharp pics, and super light weight. The zoom is good. Of course a tripod is needed for max zoom on some settings. I use this for band shots as I'm a sound engineer and like to photo my bands that I work for. I use the party/indoor setting and it gets me good shots. I'm looking at mabe upgrading eventually to a faster, 14mp, but for now I'm happy. We've also gotten some really good outdoor shots with this camera, reminds me of some of my older 35mm shots. I don't think you can do a lot better for the money spent.
I purchased this because the price was reasonable, 12+ megapixels and a 15x wide optical zoom; I like the weight and feel, with the solid grip on the right. Quick turn on and recovery between shots. I'm most surprised with the Scene selection called Sports Continuous; happened upon it accidently. It makes cool effects--sort of stop action-ish. Have learned quickly to remove the lens cover before activating power on. Neck strap can be used as a stabilizer in low light situations. Highly recommend.
i bought this camera for civilian uses. this is my first actualy pricy camera, and for starters its very good for newbies! the zoom is amazing; i was astonished that for so small, the pictures turned out so clear even all the way at 15x zoom. very easy to learn how to use- nothing so fancy.
flash works well but i just hate that you have to manually put up the pop up flash to use it. it should be automatic. but its fine; ill get use to it! flash sometimes turns the picture BLUEISH when your inside flourescent light..
it works better than my cannon powershot sd750 which was around the same price i got this nikon at relativley the same price! its a nice size, and light weight good for traveling!
i highly recommend this camera for newbies or anyone who just wants a GREAT universal camera!
Once I read through the instructions and started playing around with this camera, it really takes some great pictures. Yes you do have a little trouble getting great shots, but once you do what it is says in the instructions "TA-DA". It does do great. Large enough viewing screen to see what you are taking and icons that help you through great shots. Built in pop up flash, on board menus for fast set up. No lens fumbling to adjust, AUTOMATIC my friends.
