* No significant lag. I had a 4S and it lagged as much.
* Typing is better than any Android phone I have ever tried (about 8 of them)
* Battery life is the best so far for an LTE device.
* I personally like the effects Motorola has added to the phone. G
* Camera is mediocre for high end devices.
* Camera lags a little when taking pictures.
* The type of display used (pentile?) is not as appealing as previous Motorola displays, or Samsung's or the iPhone 4/4S.
Summary: I have owned all of Verizon's 4G phones and the Droid Bionic is far and away the best to date and I believe Android is finally on par with the iPhone with the Bionic. That is not to say that the iPhone doesn't have some superior features, it does, but Android on the Droid Bionic with its smooth operation, large screen, and fast wireless Internet speeds are enough to compete toe to toe with the King (or Queen) of mobile phones. Some of this is subjective, of course, but we use these phones for so much more than calling people that a larger screen size and faster Internet speed are becoming requirements, and will be even more so in the future.
I purchased this phone on the day of it's release and was very disappointed with the display quality, which uses pentile. Motorola in fact knew the risk they took using this display and fully regrets it as they will not be using this type of display in their next generation of phones. I sucked it up and continued to use the phone but with the buzzing noise that majority of the bionics made all had was another downfall in the engineering department of the phone's head phone jack. Motorola claims that software updates will not fix this issue. I was also very upset that the phone and hundreds of other phone owners were experiencing data loss connectivity issues. A fix is scheduled late this year for a software fix on the data loss issues. Last but not least, the camera is horrible! It takes roughly 5 seconds for the camera to snap a shot, and looks very grainy. I have tried many different camera apps, however non of them seemed to help. In short I returned the phone to Verizon since I was still in my 14 day grace period.
I am holding out for the Samsung Nexus prime which will be released November 10-11, which has this phone beat in every aspect. Also the phone does not have a locked down boot loader. If you are a die hard Moto fan you will be much happier with the Rzr that also will be released early November.
Many of you probably are wondering why there are so many Motorola Bionics being sold on Ebay lately. The fact is because they are unhappy with the phone and are eager to buy the very shortly coming Nexus Prime.
Speed and look is what bought phone for me!!! I would recommend this phone to anyone that likes touch screen. It's lightning fast features make it easy to type and surf web. I also like the front camera I can now chat with friends via front facing one!
Fast, good reception, amazing phone for what I paid, outside of a contract renewall. My only compaint isn't against the phone itself of even who I bought it from. The 4G network is still rather Sketchy. As far as battery life is concerned, I knew that the 4G phones were power hungry so I purchased an extended battery. Worth Every penny. This is the only phone I have had that doesn't die in the middle of my work day, due to low signal strength in the building where I work.
One other note, the phone is kind of bulky, and even more so with the extended battery. It isn't a concern for me, but with a 4.3 inch screen, how small do you expect it to be.
This smartphone is great! The Android operating system was a little tricky to get used to at first (seeing as I had just upgraded from an old Blackberry Curve 8530). But, once I got used to maneuvering around it, Android was great! I love all of the apps available at the Play Store, and the camera is really good too. Low light pictures aren't the best, but it's not exactly a full-featured digital camera that's built in either. The phone barely has any lag time with loading apps as well. The only flaw is the battery life; I usually have to charge it by the end of each day with only moderate use, but that's a small price to pay for all the features this phone has. I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking for a high quality smart phone!
Features: Everything is amazing there
Easy of use: It's android, what more could you want?
Battery Life: It's amazing when you think about the hungry processor, 1 GB of RAM and the 4G LTE
Value for money: I'd say this will keep me happy for 2 or 3 years.
Simply the best. The fit and finish are perfect. The screen is bright enough for outdoors. Resolution's high enough to view the whole width of web pages without scrolling. Processor's fast as a desktop computer. Extended battery lasts more than a day. Verizon network coverage is everywhere and it's as fast as a politician's excuses.
Stop waiting for the future. It's here now and it's name is Mototrola Droid Bionic.
I have had this phone for over a year now. Although its software and specs are now outdated by some phones now coming out (Samsung Galaxy II), it still meets or beats the competition in most areas. When the power went out for a few days, this phone was the only way for me to list items, and print invoices for packages i needed to ship here on ebay. If you have multiple applications running and have the screen open for long periods at a time, the battery is shortened significantly. I have never had any problems with this phone and i still have it today, because this phone can still do what most phones do that are just being released now. The camera could be a little bit better, but its good enough. Also, i want to mention i have dropped this phone many times on hard surfaces, (asphalt, concrete, tile) and the phone has always been fine afterwards. Thats durability that some phones don't have. I upgraded to this phone after having the original droid X. Motorola has earned my loyalty and i am already looking to see what they have in the works, as i will be ready to upgrade next year.
This is an excellent phone actually the best one I have ever owned. I have, like everyone else, had many different phone over the last 20 years, and they have evolved from a brick you made a call with, to a miniaturized computer. But this one is very impressive. The battery life is not the best but remember I am talking about a used phone, although it arrived in excellent condition. One issue which has come up is that the charging/usb port is slightly worn and does not maintain a good charging connection with all chargers. I may end up replacing it, but for now I can work around it.
The phone is fast, the calls are clear, the design is to my liking, all in all I am very happy with it.
Since this phone is an older model although still 4G accessories are discounted. I bought the laptop dock accessory originally 400.00 for 70.00. And the charging station which converts the phone into an alarm clock for 20.00. The laptop dock is very cool. Look into it, it really gives the phone a laptop feel and has an internal battery. This phone is scheduled to receive an Android update this spring but the current software ICS works just fine. The only issue I had is bloat ware. I rooted the phone hoping it would allow me to remove some of it, but so far no luck. That is an issue with all phones. I would recommend this product.
The Droid Bionic is a great phone and a great value for the price. With the 4G availability and and a great touch sceen display it is the best phone I ever had. I wish the battery life was better but the app Kuice Defender has helped with that. Extended battery that was nought on E Bay through a distributor in China was not impressive. Go with the stock battery and Juice Defender (the free version). You will get way better results.
