Navigating playlists, library songs, and using other navigation tools is nearly impossible to achieve easily. They make it nearly impossible to delete a song off the player you do not like because the only way is to actually go into the library because deleting anything while playing it only removes it from the current playlist, not the mp3 player! There also is no Equalizer! It went dead after a year of use and would no longer work again. Other features in the menu are hard to navigate, I truely just despise pretty much everything about this player. My brother got it while it was $250, he quickly gave it to me because he could not stand it either. Perhaps the worst feature of this device is it has a nasty habbit of shutting off for no reason during file transfers and playing songs, sometimes you have to completely drain the batteries, reset the device and then charge it again to get it to work. Practically 1-2 times a week with light use it had to be reset, which sometimes would not work unless it had absolutley no power left as it would get stuck into a permanent blue circle non-working mode which would not respond to resets. Never in my life had I had such a painful experiance with a mobile device, thank Microsoft for a mp3 player that requires the same reboot to fix errors feature that is in Windows!!! It does play music well, has a nice microphone and play videos, with a really nice one-touch random all tracks and great search features for songs, albums, artists; but it is not worth the pain.
Save yourself a headache and don’t buy from Microsoft whenever there is an alternative. Google “Zune Problems” for a sample of the issues. Here are just a few of the problems I’ve had with the Zune 120: 1) Impossible to get more than one video onto the device. Some users report they are able to sync videos, but it can take hours (!) for even a short clip. In my case, the progress icon gets stuck at 50%, 90%, etc but can never finish. Many others report the same bug. How can Microsoft sell a product like this? 2) They offer 14 free days of membership to the Zune music marketplace website – don’t take it! Just buy from Amazon or some other reputable site. Microsoft automatically renews the membership with the credit card you provide, unless you explicitly opt out. Fine, a lot of companies do this, but in the case of Microsoft, it is probably easier to quit the Mafia than to quit their music website. I spent well over an hour trying to terminate the membership, but could not get it taken care of (I have a PhD in physics from Caltech, by the way). The Internet consensus, from what I’ve read, is that Microsoft does this intentionally to enhance revenue: 3) After purchasing a couple dozen songs from Zune, the site stopped accepting my credit card (“invalid card”). There was nothing wrong with the card, but I changed to another credit card anyway - same problem. After wasting 90 minutes, I decided to just purchase the rest of my songs from Amazon (Same credit card and, now, no problem). Why bother dealing with Microsoft Zune music center at all? 4) The “customer support” is non-existent. Try finding a valid email address for questions! I finally found a “customer support” phone number. After a 40 minute wait, the line went dead. If you are still considering a Zune, Google “Zune Problems” or similar KW. Also, try finding a customer support phone number and call – see how that goes for you BEFORE you purchase their product.
I bought a black zune (8gb)3 weeks and 3 days after I bought it. It just turned off, since then i haven't been able to turn it on. I am really upset because i paid $70.59 so I would get something that I couldn't even enjoy. I would recomend that if you want to buy something from here, that is brand new, not refurnished or used.
Why Poor....... THIS IS WHY
You have to do MILLION things before you can listen only one song.......... Is not that easy.....
Step 1: Download a 50mb software yeah Fifty MegaBytes (doesn't come with the product) Im very sorry if you have a slow conection.
Step 2: After you have the software it download AGAIN some components it took A LOT with 700 Kb Conection, so it means it was a lot of data
Step 3: Here come the real instalation, after that you will have to restart your Pc
Step 4: Conect the Zune player..... Upsss Once again... you have to download some updates, and yeah it will take a quite time to do it.
Step 5: Well honestly...... im still doing it right now.......
but i think is a great player......
I’ll concede that it probably is a decent MP3 player. It sounds good and looks good (for whatever that is worth).
My problem with this product is the software requirements. I had no idea I needed to download the software before it would even work. That little process took over two days and succeeded only after I found a PC Microsoft decided was up to spec.
Now that I have software, it isn’t easy to use. Why can’t I just drag and drop songs as though it was another drive? I still can’t get the playlist thing working. It is simply a pain to use.
I’m sorry I bought it.
Not a good Buy, I lost my money. I couldn't even fix it. Neither the hard drive worked. Maybe the screen is OK but I don't know yet.
im military this porduct stands up to abuse far better than ipod or mp3 player you do not need to buy music if you dont want it takes all or some of the music off your computer or device library
I purchased a Zune MP3 player in early June from (Moneymachine91)and have not yet received it. The sender claims he sent it from the post office in Pennsylvania and records show it was recieved by the Pennsylvania Post Office. I have made numerous contacts to my local Post Office and they claim it may be lost. What's next?
I received the Zune player and it stopped working after 2 days. It would not turn on or charge. I even switched chargers and still nothing. Terrible purchase
My experience with this product was not good. Came with the bad battery is the change and did not work.
