Xbox 360 continues to have better graphics and action that all of the PS models, and we have them all. My son loves the Xbox when it works. "The Bad" is that 3 of the 4 we've had all developed the Red Ring of Death. We are just crossing our fingers on the last one. I've spent way too much money replacing and repairing Xboxes. "The Ugly" is that Microsoft took too many shortcuts in manufacturing and there is now a sub-industry out there doing repairs and rebuilds. MSFT has released 3 versions under the name of Xbox 360 (with 3 different power supplies as well) and you have to be careful which one you get since the last one is the most reliable from what I've found. The new Xbox 360 Slim may have solved the problems, but only time will tell. People love or hate MSFT, and I won't get into that battle, but generally I like MSFT and make my living off of their products, but here MSFT has failed the consumer by not stepping up and extending warranties to repair/replace or even acknowledge the issue.
Upon arrival of the Xbox 360, I decided to turn it on and see how it works. It worked up until I updated the xbox to the new dashboard (NXE) and that is when I got the E74 error. It was obviously not tested enough because if it was then they could have updated it yourself and then have fixed the error or sent it to microsoft. We eventually found out that there were 3 months left of a warranty on the xbox so we sent it in and got to play it around june 30/july 1st. Plus the description was very poor since you sent us an Arcade version with a hard drive on it instead of a pro. I guess since its cheaper.
The xbox showed up in a very timely manner. At first, the console turned on but the controller did not work. After contacting the company they sent me another faulty controller (one that was even more beat up). On my third call to the company they sent me two brand new controllers as a favor which was greatly appreciated. I finally got to turn on the system and play a few games when then console red ringed on me and I was given a E74 error message. I have sent it back and await the new console, hopefully it works this time. The company has been very willing to deal with the issues but the product itself has been a big disappointment.
I love the console and its features, what i did not like is that it was defective, first one of the corners was broken, then when we started it up with the HDMI cable, the A/V cable connections on the console did not work properly, it would make the console turn off and on so i had to buy different cables in order to make it work. I bought it because on the description it says its in perfect working condition.
I bought a 20gb PRO! version of the xbox 360 and what do i get... an arcade model i checked the manufacture # and it was the same for the arcade version. Then i plug it all in to my HDTV and what do i get a red light on the bottom right and got error E67 on my TV screen. I call customer service which i was really happy about but all they could do is send me another one this time hopefully a PRO model and with a working hard drive. Later I Googled the error E67 and found out it was a HARD Drive failure. Not very good product but hopefully i will get a good system.
Everything you have heard about the xbox 360 is true.
The services offer after you pay for xbox live is great.
The system sounds like an helicopter when running and don't forget about the 2,3,or 4Rings of death. Whenever you see those indication "ohh!ohh!" you know what mean by that. Anyway, the gameplay is great; unless you have 250 dollars to buy a new xbox every month buy one, if you don't explore your other options.
The Xbox I got was definitely one of a kind. Whoever finds a Batman style Xbox? Nobody. After a closer look, I noticed it was not a pro job. That didn't bother me. I also saw that the power button had been damaged and the cover for the controllers port was missing. For the $100 price I paid, that didn't bother me one bit. What did and continues to bother me is that the Lights of Death appear and disappear continuously. For a whole day or two I can't play. Then maybe the day after I can play. Sometimes during gameplay it will freeze up on me. In just the last few days, the Xbox I just got is officially dead. The Xbox series has and will likely have continuous problems for a long time. I really like Xbox for the action packed sports and racing games they offer, but it's no good once the processor dies, due to either one of a number of malfunctions including OVERHEATING, clamp malfunctioning, or something else. Just get it right...
Got the 360 fairly fast, but it refuses to play any games or dvds. Not a bad price tho, and cheap enough i was able to get a replacement console to go with the cords and controller and still come out better than going to the store.
I thought I'd get a great gently used system and save a lot of money. The system is five years old and worked for 2 weeks before completely shutting down. The "warranty" I purchased did nothing to replace the system, they did have the descencey to refund the cost of the warranty.
But, I'm still out a couple hundred on a bad xbox. I love ebay. But, when it comes to game systems, computers...go in a store, buy it new, spend more, get a receipt. Have some kind of insurance on your purchase.
Hellow to all the gamers out there.I wanted an xbox 360 because it was the cheappest game fore sell on ebay. And because I wanted to play devil may cry 4. This game the xbox 360 has many problems but if you have the money and a lot of time I'm sure you can make it work fore you. I'm sure many xbox 360 fans out there would not want me too talk bad about the xbox 360. But this is the problems I had with mine so don't get mad at me. The game played for 3-4 hour before over heating and then the (RRD):red rings of death happen. To does whoe do not know what the red rings of death are it's when the unit over heats and the insides melt. So I sent mine back to be fix or exchange. The next one was working fine for half an hour before freezing up as in the picture. It frozzed over and over every time. Thats when I've had enougth!. So I sent it back and got a refund. Make sure your xbox 360 has a good warranty before buying one. I get mad realy very fast that just me and so to any body else who wants a xbox 360 do it at your on cost as in money. I'll admit that I gave up on the xbox 360 too fast. I want something that last as long as a play station 2 did with no problems That's all. Best of luck to all of you gamers out there whoe want to own a xbox 360 thank you for reading my review and I know it was long one sorry about that.
