a fantastic disaster at sea film, which includes the producers actually sinking the ship, the ill de france.
the best actor in this film is the late woody strode, a fantastic actor, whose contribution to film making is grossly under rated, and reported. he played an important role in the john wayne classic, "the man who shot liberty valance" (pompy).
robert stack gives his usual wooden performance, he can be over looked here also. lines are delivered in the typical methodical, wooden style. george sanders shines as the captain. and Edmund O'Brien gives a notable performance, Oscar caliber. he and strode were in "liberty valance" together
5 out of 5 stars.
pre-dates the posideon adventure, and is just as exciting.
The pre-Titanic movie! The Last Voyage. Very engrossing to watch! Has some great special effect`s for it`s time. The acting is all good. Yes, one of those ship sinking movies that leave`s you right on the edge of your seat, and chewing off every fingernail you have. It will keep you enthralled at what`s going to happen next. The acting is great, the filming is great, this is a classic that will never go out of style. I liked this movie a lot more than a Night To Remember, or Titanic (original). This movie was good from the very start to the ending. Your time won`t be wasted on this one! Get the wife, cuddle up, grab the blankie, the tissue , and the life jacket`s cause it`s gonna be a rough ride!
Very good old classic filmed before Titanic. Similar in nature with ship sinking though not on the grand scale of today's movies. Robert Stack is excellent and I also like Woody. Movie was a little campy but still very good.
Product as described - although is the US version, so will have to be played on computer linked to TV - not a problem.
great movie concidering that everything is puter generated these days. this movie actually partially destroyed and part sank the IleDeFrance ocean liner to make this film. It truly stands the test of tims. Highly recomend.
