Another Great Bruce Willis movie with a few good friends as supporting actors. Exciting with fire power.
Newer remake of the old Clint Eastwood movie of the same genre named "Fistful of Dollars", this time with Bruce Willis as the "Man With No Name".
It is the 1930's and Prohibition is in effect. Willis is passing through a small, dusty, dirty, south Texas town close to the Mexican border. He stops to let some people cross the street and by looking at a woman brings down the ire of thugs. He is threatened, and has his tire slashed, windshield and headlight broken. This all happens in clear view of the sheriff's office directly across the street. The sheriff, Bruce Dern, basically tells him to go to hell when he asks for assistance. He walks into an all but deserted bar & hotel where the proprietor tells him what is going on in this town named Jericho. It seems that there are two gangs of whiskey runners from Chicago using this place to illegally import booze across the Mexican border, one gang Italian and one Irish. The cops are on the take, and practically all of the good people have left. A sort of truce exists between the two gangs, at least until "Mr. Smith" (Willis) shows up. Just like Eastwood in the old western, he recognizes that with two waring gangs, there is a lot of money to be made by working for both gangs, clandestinely, of course. He does this well and successfully manages to work within both gangs against the other. Pretty good movie, with a lot of dust and dirt. Willis manages to kill practically everybody there, just like Clint did in "Fistful", and afterwards just drives away.
This is a great movie.... especially for us action and gunfight lovers. Bruce Willis plays a good role in this one. The action is awesome as well as the rest of the cast. Christopher Walken displays his great acting skills in this one too. Just don't forget it is a movie..... The Colt .45's in this movie get a lot out of those 7 round clips. :)
I bought this movie as a gift for my dad. There is nothing about this movie that I hate... well except waiting for it to get to my home. It is a great movie to watch if you like action! My dad loves this movie!
I really like this movie. if your into old gang movies this is a good one to get. bruce willis is awesome in this
I am an action film junkie. So it would be only logical that I would own this incredible movie. It combines the "Old Western" theme with Bruce Willis and twice the action, as the icing on the cake!
I love this film!
This is a remake of 1964 "Fistfull of Dollars" -with actor Clint Eastwood- which was a remake of 1961 "Yojimbo" by Akira Kurosawa. The story and plot are great - and I guess it works well, considering the movies that are spun off of it (in which there are many more). It wasn't excellent because Bruce Willis didn't pull it off quite as well as Eastwood and ToshirÅ Mifune in Yojimbo. If B.Willis worked as hard in this as the "Die Hard" movies, then this would have been Great. The violence is top notch, great shooting scenes. The first "kill" by B. Willis is beyond belief - special effect-wise. If you like "Desperado" with A. Banderas (in which I also believe was a remake of the "Yojimbo" movie) Then you will love this.
if you like the movies about the 30s Gangster era you will love this movie.. lots of Action, a Great movie..
What's there to say it was just a DVD......but.....the ebay company, service, total experience ....in my opinion is FANTASTIC....I have bought..sold and made a hobby out of this new and exciting time....I never would have dreamed in my younger days of anything like this....I hope it is still around for many, many years to come and greed does not make anymore major changes.... that I've seen and heard about so far....thank you for this Great outlet for many people to make a living or supplement their income, Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot how bad the acting in this movie was but it is entertaining, especially Chris Walken's character.
