To all those who actually take the time to read this kind of dreck:
This is my second LGvx8350. My original LGvx8350 was 'comped' to me by Verizon when they sneakily bought my account from Qwest wireless. It's not a bad phone, but it probably would not have been my first choice if I actually would have had to buy the phone, and Verizon was obviously not my first carrier of choice, but I got railroaded into it by those dirtbags at Qwest, but that's another story.
I bought this second LGvx8350 because my 2 year old got a hold of my old one when I was not looking and snapped the face of the main body unmerciful. Unluckily for me the warranty had ran out five days previous. (Don't let your 2 year old get a hold of your phone, folks!) I had already invested in all the accoutrements- plastic protective cover, car charger, holster, etc, and did not want to eat the cost of the extras after only having had the phone a short while.
All in all the phone is a decent little phone. I never have had any regular problems with it's functionality except for a handful of times when it would freeze up and suddenly shut itself off or reboot for no apparent reason, usually when I was in the middle of something important (naturally). It's got all the Bluetooth and stuff, but who really ever uses Bluetooth? The camera is good and takes decent photos, but nothing worth writing home about. The battery could use some work, as it always seems to be out of juice, even when not having been used much (but that pretty much goes for any cell phone, no?). It is plenty loud though, the speakers put out some noise if you want them to. It is also pretty durable. I dropped mine a couple times before I got the protective cover and very minimal scratching occurred. Other phones I have had and have dropped have always had a tendency to "explode" on impact (the rear battery door coming off and the battery coming out and the protective covers popping off and stuff; a minor inconvenience to have to reassemble after finding all the loose ends, never mind the total embarrassment for dropping your phone to begin with), but not with this lg, it stays intact. However, unfortunately no phone on the market is childproof or klutz-proof.
They say the phone retails brand new for like 300 dollars (MSRP). Talk about price inflation! Who do these corporate fat-cats think they are? This phone is no way worth 300 dollars, and if you actually have paid that for this phone, then I feel really sorry for you. And I laugh at you. It might be worth like 80 bucks brand new. Tops. However, I have not been disappointed with this phone, otherwise I would have eaten the cost on all my aforementioned goodies and got a different replacement phone, so that must be saying something good in and of itself.
In conclusion I would like to say that on a one to ten scale I would rate the LG-VX8350 as a solid 7. Better than average but but not excellent by any means.
I like this phone comes with good design and light (flip type), long battery operation, rare to find the cdma flip type in Indonesia and also support the EVDO Rev.0 for modem.
But I'm dislike the ringtone that cannot use big file of MP3 and also video cast just running in Verizon Network not shipped as general video player.
I'm use it in Indonesia and running well for data modem, voice cdma 2000 1x and SMS. There are no cdma networks supporting MMS and video call here.
The shape of the phone was ok, thought it would be a little better. It does function fine though. The camera on it takes a nice picture. The ease of use is good also. It is a mid grade phone, nice color.
I had a phone just like this and i liked it a lot. This phone is not like the factory verizon. It must be rebuilt because the program features dont work right. It looks great. Just dont expect it to work like your old phone
Phone in great shape. After having it about 2 weeks people kept telling me they could not hear me. I love the phone. I'm going to take it & get it fix.
Nice little phone. I purchased it so I could get rid of my blackberry and the data package that went along with it. I only need the phone, texting and camera. Unfortunately this particular phone itself would not accept a transfer of contacts from old phone to new phone. Seller had more in stock but was not sure if I would have the same problems so I upgraded to the next model up w/o data package.
Good phone, easy use, simple to figure out. The reliability is in question. After extended use the hinges at the top of the phone start to give way and crack. The phone is almost trash at that point.
I had two phone for my family. One is in great shape no complains but the 2nd phone is not as the 1st one. However is functioning. My main problem is when you hand up the call by folding it power off. So I usually do that slowly and gently.
It just was not what we expected. It is a parts phone, we were looking for a complete unit. If someone is looking for parts for a phone they have, this is a good place to go.
