Features: 1Ghz snapdragon processor, separate independent graphics video processor, direct draw, latest version WM 6.5, Office, Adobe Reader, great 2D and 3D video drivers, CDMA and GPRs,3G, comfortable keyboard, works with AT&T or TMobile if you buy it unlocked.
Installed SPB Shell for customization, TCPMP to play any kind of videos including ripped DVDs, CleanRAM, Soft reset, Windows Live with Messenger, Skype, Google apps, Google maps, Internet sharing, YouTube, Games and Opera and I must say this is my dream phone, and a mini super computer. There was no need to get a custom Rom at all. Windows 6.5 is a million times better than Windows Mobile 7 for customization and free great apps.
Incredibly fast and functional. WM 6.5 was created to perform very fast in 400 Mhz-600 Mhz. Just imagine how it performs with 1 Ghz! For me, this is it. If you are into customizing and power, this is your phone, just don't forget to install the mobile SPB Shell.
Cons: Without SPB Shell, it's frustrating to use and boring.
Too much plastic used in the making. Had to get rid of the Verizon junk installed. I have no fear of any high end phone, let's benchmark, I am up there. I love my LG Fathom.
Bought it because it was very cheap ($50) for a smartphone, especially among smartphones with comparable specs. Mostly, I got what I paid for - the battery takes half a day to charge and half a day to empty, getting very hot in the recharging process.
There are problems with connecting to wifi, constantly requires reentering the network password. Fails to sync on almost all attempts.
The user interface is below average, the diagonal grid of icons is difficult to follow and cannot be changed. Many functions are behind multiple icons, but still hard to find.
Lots of Verizon and Microsoft bloatware preinstalled.
The touchscreen does not respond well, the taps are inaccurate and scrolling difficult to impossible. Confuses taps and scrolling attempts. The display quality is fine for me, but not top of the line.
I really like the keyboard with its large, responsive buttons and enough buttons for all functions.
it's a smart phone that has almost everything. First of all it's made of high quality materials that make it very durable but makes it a little heavy. Large screen allows you to see and read easily everything, high resolution and Colors are great. I dislike the fact that I can't move up and down with the thumb through the pages. It makes it difficult and takes a lot of time to see and read an internet page or site from the uper lines to the bottom. Buttons are responding quickly .Menu seems a little difficult for me to use as it's my first phone running windows.
Camera is also pretty good but not top as it's only 3.2Mp.
Battery seems to be very good but I can't be sure until a year of use passes.
Despite the disadvantages it's a great value for money
I recommend it to people that don't want to spend fortunes buing phones and like to have a decent one that has many fetures
I purchase this on a deal from eBay for only 80 bucks. For this price this phone makes an excellent deal. Specs are way above the price point plus features a qwerty keyboard which for me makes a big plus. Phone is responsive overall and I would recommend this to everyone that wants a windows phone with keyboard and GPS. Pros: More than excellent price/features ratio. Cons: Keyboard gets a bit to get used to. No ring mute option when you dont want to answer a call. Bottom line: I would buy this phone again.
I really love this phone. I got a used but almost new one for $45 on ebay and i have absolutely loved it! It does not have android, but the windows operating system works well also! You can even create a word or powerpoint document right on your phone! I really love it, its great cuz it has wifi also and i dont pay for a data plan so i can use the wifi wherever i can! :)
i purchased this phone and my brother had his first son that night, he tried to send me pictures and I COULD NOT RECEIVE THEM!!! Needless to say i was a very unhappy camper!! i read reviews and it seems this happens to ALL who purchase it with intent on using the GSM mode!! I tried to get it worked on but at&t said it was a verizon phone and verizon said it was not their service. i was stuck, so i returned it. has problems there too but that is for another review. if you intend to use a GSM network DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PHONE, MANY FEATURES DO NOT WORK. It wouldn't even just send a simple text right!! I can not speak for the Verizon part of the phone though.
Great phone with great price ... too many feature and the screen resolution is great ... memory capacity is good camera very good
Nice Smartphone. Works well on the Web. The support page for this product LG is insufficient. Very easy to use. The only problem, the battery life.
The LG Fathom is relatively compact compared to other smart phones, yet has a sturdy build quality. At 4.5 x 2.2 x 0.7 inches and 5.3 ounces, it looks like a Windows Phone version of the Android-powered LG Ally, with some subtle differences. The LG Fathom has squarish corners with harder edges. Instead of going with all black like they did on the Ally, LG seems to have tailored the Fathom to its business audience with a serious dark blue color with a brushed metallic face.
Bought this phone for my son's 13th birthday. This is his first smart phone. He loved it and used it comfortable and had no problem so far (about a month). He said the keypad is easy to use. This is unlocked phone and we've just put our current T-mobile simcard into it. This is an original Verizon phone so to use it for T-mobile network, we needed to reset network service. It's simple but we need to read the manual and follow instructions. The seller said we can call them to get help if we had any problem with T-mobile simcard, but we do not need to call for help.
