Been doing a lot of printing at home for a Rock and Roll Mass and every time music was pdf'ed to us I would need to print it for rehearsal. The pain involved in waiting for my HP 940 to give birth to a page was daunting. With the 2420 - I go from one selection to another without time in between. Low mileage on a work horse model - I have 6 of these printers in the office. Once you've had a LaserJet there is no going back!!!!!
I love this machine, fast and quiet. For the money you cannot beat it. Very quick warm up time..It's quite compact and is able to fit in a small space. The beauty is that is it a duplex printer and networkable, that's what helped me in my decision.
I love HP Printers in general, and this particular model for sure. From single workstation pairing to setup on a server (or directly on the network) for a workgroup, these little workhorses go and go, and last and last. They're easy to repair/refurb when it comes to minor parts and represent a real value for fast and furious, small office needs.
Toner is readily available and this unit uses plain paper.
Many are available with duplexers installed, which means they print on BOTH sides of the paper.
I bought this to use in my online business for labels and all my printing needs . This printer is far more than I need but I wanted something that would last longer and not use the cheap little ink cartridges. The toner cartridges cost more initially, but will last for 6000 pages or more.
I wanted to buy a printer that worked pretty fast and that had a high value for the ink toner that we have to buy, which it does. I think the ink worked out to $0.02 per page.
This was purchased to replace an older high volume printer. It has been a great running machine and we have had no problems at all.
