I bought it to be a handy tool ( to find a restaurant, ect... )while traveling from state to state. In which it has served great if I pull over and dig it out of the floor. If time is important ( to bad ) you can just suffer thru having to stop to get your GPS out of the passenger side of your car ( assuming your fortune enough that it's not stuck under the gas pedal ). GPS manufactures need to have a better way of mounting. The suction cup did not last 24 hours. The suction cup was brand new and within 24 hours the rubber ripped apart. I have tried the vent mount and it wants to swing the vent from left to right and then back again. At this point I would only recommend one if you are willing to spend another $100 bucks to have it professionally installed. Portable GPS maybe good for hikers but for cars they can be extremely frustrating.
my first gps other than using blackberry or smartphone gps software...i like this product cuz it has lifetime traffic plus is 5.0 inches which is decent size...has bluetooth which is nice as well....i think that this gps is pretty nice...my top complaints i have to say are. first of all i notice that it doesn't give me options of travel....it pretty much tells u which way to go but it doesn't allow u options as far as which highway to take and so forth that that's really whack...i also noticed that oftentimes it tells me to go a route that i know is much slower than other present routes....sometimes it tells u to go locally when i expect to go thru the highway....it doesn't account for redlights either...so at first it'll tell me my eta but each time i stop at a red light my eta changes....overall, is a decent gps i recommend it, but if u got money to spend i would look else where....
well i guess the truth has to come out now on a one to ten rating>>>>>>>>>
1-it seems ok for the price
2-it works just like the full priced one
3-but-but-but-it is not just like the high priced one !
4- its refurbished ?
5 - you would think if some one bought it and returned it back to the dealer and the manufacturer check it out for resale, that they would know that the new buyer would not have to re-downloaded all the up to date maps -but not the case,i had a terrible time with telling the support team that i just bought it in June and i needed to get the new maps up to date.i went round and round with them, they said that i bought it in December 2010 and it was out of the alotted time to do an up to date map download. geee`s the serial # should tell them that it was returned and refurverd??????get with it Garmin ????? also traffic alerts not there oh my god what else ???
This model has a much larger screen and overall structure than my previous garmin gps, very clear screen and easy to see. But on the other hand, the gps being larger also bring wieght making it heavier and bulky. . On very hot days the gps will fall off my wind shield in my car. Never had that problem with my smaller garmin 255 model.
ITS A REFURB AND THE BLUETOOTH DOES NOT WORK I BOUGHT IT FOR HANDS FREE PHONE AND GOOD DIRECTIONS YES I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO SMOE OF MY FRIENDS BUT A NOT A REFURB TO MUCH TO SEND IT BACK AND TOO MUCH TROUBLE
I also have a random shut-off problem. Pop-ups too. At night, the unit arbitrarily alternates between day and night mode. Sometimes the thing gets lost and voice direction just goes silent. Can't use the Bluetoosh as callers complain of too much background noise. I like the device but this one is going back.
I like the screen and display, but I am going to have to sent it to Garmin as the touch screen in the upper right corner doesn't work.
This is a good unit, if only it was a little faster connecting with the sats. I'm always 5 miles down the road before it connects.
Carga muy lento los mapas, cuando me desplazo por las calles en vista general de mapa tarda mucho en cargar las calles y los nombres de las mismas.
