This monitor, along with its successor the 1908FP have consistently garnered very good reviews throughout the industry.
Indeed, as someone that was using a slowly fading away CRT screen, I just simply knew I had to do SOMETHING this way and I don't like the more oblong screens that now seem so in vogue.
A friend of mine has had this screen for a while and I most admired it; short of doing really fancy aftwork on it, it's quite capable and if you don't want get very fancy this way, you can make some decent settings all in the video card that will do a good job of giving this screen the last bit of real "pronouncement."
So, at these prices with a bit of tinkering in the video card you can really get something going here that can equal much more expensive screens for not too much money.
Throw in the durability of these screens and that you can get a good warranty from "Dell" should solve most problems encountered by more than the casual computer user.
For the price you can't go wrong. I purchased three of these to run triple monitors for gaming. I'm sure you can find a better quality picture, but not for this price.
I like the this Dell monitor due to the fact that it has both a DVI and an AGP port because my computer has a DVI port and it makes for better graphics. I also like the fact it has 4 USB ports
This monitor isnt the sharpest available, but for the price you can get them for now they make a great office/corporate buy.
I know without doubt that Dell LCD monitors are pretty good products and are built to last for a very long time. For the price it was extremely reasonably. Although I didn't get to use it, I am pretty sure it was a good product because all my computer products are DELL. For the money it was well worth it.
