This espresso machine is a very nice unit.It has all the functions of an high end unit but without the high end price.I am a appliance technician that is certified on Miele coffee systems, now these are $1500-$3000 per machine. It is my opinion that this DeLonghi BAR 32 Espresso Machine makes just as good a cup of espresso as the Miele. Now that only depends on the quality of the beans being used. This DeLonghi BAR 32 Espresso Machine is no Miele but for the price $75.00 shipped you cant beat that with a stick!!!The only2 faults I have with the DeLonghi BAR 32 Espresso Machine is when you use the pod filter mine tends to get stuck when I remove the filter holder from unit after making a cup of Joe.Maybe it needs to be broken in.And the second fault is that the steam frother does not go up and down,I have to put unit at the edge of my counter, lucky for me that is where I had planed it to be.ALL IN ALL THIS IS A VERY NICE UNIT BUILT IN ITALY WERE THEY KNOW HOW COFFE SHOULD TASTE!!!!!!!!
Rated excellent based on its low price and the fact that this machine produces plenty of "crema" for the real espresso flavor. I also like the fact that it has a large water tank so I don't have to mess with water every time I want a cup of coffee.
I got this as a gift, and its one of the best/most used/practical gifts Ive ever received. It got me to stop paying $3 almost every day for an americano at Starbucks (which is a cheap drink for them). So it has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
As long as you use good coffee, it tastes just like you went to Starbucks. HAving worked at Starbucks, in order to get it to taste the same, you do need to learn about the perfect grind, tamp, and draw time. BUT IT TASTES GREAT if you do it right.
However, it recently started having problems in the last month, and started leaking from the bottom, only working half the time. I've had it for year and a half, and maybe I overused it a bit, but I can't seem to fix it, and Delonghi says I have to send it off and pay for it to be repaired, so I bought a new one today (a Krups 4030), and it works just as good and for the same price.
I DO RECOMMEND THIS, THOUGH I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT IT BROKE AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF. (maybe they all do, if you use it almost everyday)
STOP GETTING RIPPED OFF AT STARBUCKS AND BUY ONE. YOULL LOVE IT.
This is the perfect machine for first time owners. Not complicated and doesn't take too long to make a perfect cup of espresso. Using this one will give you time to decide if you want to upgrade and if so what features you want to have. I use it everyday at least once if not two or three times. Functions consistent. Makes a Starbucks quality drink without too much fuss. Looks nice on the counter and has paid for itself in a short time.
This machine produces a great cup of espresso. The pump has enough power to leave a crema. Introductory pump driven espresso machine, with froth aider. Supports both ground coffee and ESE (certified) espresso pods. This is the second unit I have owned and both have worked flawlessly. The main reason I purchased it was due to price. With top units ranging 300.00-600.00, the DeLonghi was less than 100.00 on Ebay.
I love this machine! It makes excellent espresso with great crema, and steams milk really frothy and creamy. I use it every morning and some afternoons and am SO happy with it!
These DeLonghi products have been discontinued and do not carry a warranty. They do make hot espresso and tale too long. I have a stove top espresso maker that does a far better job than these pieces of junk. The construction is superb, but the engineering just doesn't cut the mustard. The "Bar 35" takes 30 minutes to heat up. I can make six - eight cups with my stove top in less than 30 minutes, the first cup takes about 3 minutes.
This is a fantastic, easy to use machine, that makes wonderful espressos and cappucinos! Though this is my first espresso machine, it was easy to get it right. I picked this model because of the great reviews and I haven't been disppointed. I bought mine used on ebay for $40 and though it was a year old, haven't had any problems.
Fantastic machine. Makes excellent espresso and cappuccino. Fast and very easy to use. The only draw back is that it only makes 2 small espresso/cappuccino at a time!!! I love this machine!!!
This is the first espresso machine my wife and I have ever owned/operated. At first it seemed a bit difficult compared to a regular drip coffee maker, however after using it a couple of times now, it is really quite simple. So far the only minor complaint is that our regular coffee mugs don't fit in without removing the drip tray (which is no big deal at all) but otherwise we have been pretty impressed... I don't know if we'll ever go back to a drip machine again. We used the same coffee beans in both the espressom maker and our previous drip machine, and this machine just makes it taste and feel so much better when you drink it. It also seems to use less coffee, I guess because it extracts so much more flavor out of each grain of coffee, as compared to a drip coffee maker. We have tried both the pods as well as fresh grounds, and both taste great. We are also looking forward to trying out flavored syrups and getting creative with them. It seems that this delonghi has really opened our eyes to the world of coffee!
