I was in need of a new phone, as my Palm Centro finally kicked the bucket. I loved the Blackberry flip, and decided the pearl looked nice. I love the weight, feel, and design of the phone. It's elegant and fashionable, with all the things I need in a phone. It took some time to find out how to lock the keys, but now that I know how it's dang near perfect!
If you're looking for a small phone that's cute, works, and has a good battery this is it.
I bought the NewPhone BlackBerry Pearl 8110 (AT&T) three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.
Very good fancy tiny phone. Almost to small for comfortable key pad use. Comparing it with my blackberry storm then it's also a bit complicated to use. Would like some options to be quicker and easier to get too. Have to keep in mind it's also a computer, not just a phone. For a small gadget it is very good.
I bought one for my wife and she loves it. It didn't take long for her to get used to typing on the modified QWERTY keyboard, and setting up her email account on it was a snap. There are a ton of different menus and icons, however, so navigating around to find a setting or application for the first time is not easy.
As an aside, be prepared for AT&T to require you to upgrade to their 30 dollar/month Blackberry data plan; if you refuse they will not activate your phone. This policy was implemented a month before I bought it (November 2009) and caught us off guard. Just wanted to say that in case anyone else buying this wasn't aware of that yet.
This is the most easiest phone to unlock. A little difficult to navigate and don't like the trackball very much. For the most part it's pink so no complains!!!
