Great product if you are looking for a modern communication device!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I am a Blackberry fan, so I may be a bit biased.

Pros:

* Build quality, the phone doesn't feel cheap. Just like any other blackberry, especially in the Bold range.

* Transparent encryption of all content in the phone, and the ability to reset the phone data if someone steals it and tries the password a number of times. Other phones also have software to do this, but this one has it built in.

* Holster integration, the phone goes to some "sleep" mode when entered to a holster, without turning off the radio (incoming calls etc). Also, you can set the phone to be locked when in the holster.

* The charging pod: The phone has two metal contacts on the two bottom corners, and is used to charge the phone when kept on a Blackberry charging pod. This is way more robust than using the delicate micro USB interface. I have seen other phones whose micro USB connector gets warn and loose within an year or two.

* I personally like the physical keyboard, but it may be different for other people. They keyboard on this phone is very easy to use.

* The new trackpad is easier and lighter than the trackball used in older models.

* It is very easy to do a lot of things just by using the trackpad and the menu/return keys on either side of it.

* Message display is easier to follow in the conversation mode.

* Showing recent activity (calls, messages etc) in the contact view is very useful.

* Global search feature is nice (start typing anything in the home screen, a contact name, or a setup feature like "password", and you can find it without going through the menus).

Cons:

* The phone needs a blackberry connection, unless you know how to create service books (bit technical, but possible). Gmail app was available for this phone, but it was discontinued a week ago. But you can still find it in various blackberry forums. Or you can use Logicmail, a free email app for blackberry. But other official apps like Facebook also requires a blackberry connection.

* If you don't want a physical keyboard, then that space may be a waste for you, and may have gone for a phone with a big screen without a physical keyboard.

* Blackberry doesn't have as many apps as Android or iPhone. This is not a problem for me as my requirements of the phone is limited to a modern communication device, but it may be different for you.

Solid construction, sleek design, best BlackBerry yet

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
Review For: BlackBerry Bold 9780 - White (T-Mobile) Smartphone

I'm incredibly happy with this phone. Switching from my Tour 9630, everything feels like an upgrade. The trackpad rocks, the keyboard is so smooth, internal memory and processing is incredibly fast (including reboot time, SO much faster!!) and the external speaker has incredible sound for watching YouTube videos or just listening to some music in bed, and the headphone audio quality is better than my iPod. At the end of the day, this phone gets any and all jobs done. It serves as an incredibly useful business tool which I use for real estate, it's a multi-media powerhouse that can compete with nearly any other smartphone on the market, the GPS and new BlackBerry Maps rocks (turn-by-turn, mph, direction, etc), and its really great for instant messaging with fellow Berry users and non-users alike.

I love this phone!! And what's really fantastic is that BlackBerry doesn't undergo serious design or spec hauls, so this phone will be relevant and at the forefront for atleast the next year, whereas I'd be afraid to buy a new iPhone 4 because there's likely to be an iPhone 5 that'll render it obsolete in the not-too-distant future.

Gotta love the Berry. I highly recommend this phone.

Awesome Phone! A Major Upgrade in the Software Aspect Compared to the 9700!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This is a very good product, not only does it seemlessly integrate email and messages into the phone, it also provides amazing battery life and a relatively compact size compared to previous BlackBerry models. The only negative aspect would be the slightly slower performance when fully loaded with information, however, that being said if you have any computer skills at all you will not have problems with this; simply dump some of the old information and your good to go again. Another downside to this phone is that it does not have the upgraded browser similar to the new BlackBerrys, with that being said it does have a very good browser functionality. Absolutely amazing security and if you deal with any sensitive data this is an extremely important feature that is commonly overlooked on handheld electronics. The BlackBerry desktop manager also allows you to seemlessly integrate music, backup your information, and provide updates to the device. One positive feature about the desktop manager software is that it can actually sync with your iTunes playlists so there is no difficulties going from an iPhone to a BlackBerry, or iPod to BlackBerry. The QWERTY keyboard makes it an amazing phone to type emails and long messages and this is all this coming from a user that has gone from; Android, to BlackBerry, to iPhone, to Android, and now back to the Bold 9900. This is a very good product and I wanted this phone back after I got the iPhone! One note to add to potential buyers as well: If your buying a phone for use within Canada, make sure you check with your service provider before buying a phone, because even Unlocked phones can't run on certain networks because of the frequencies. SO ALWAYS FIND A PHONE WITH THE FREQUENCIES YOUR NETWORK PROVIDER HAS!

Great functional phone for people who want a phone, not a toy.

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I bought the Blackberry because I didn't want another one of those "toy" phones that are great for playing Angry Birds and buying thousands of useless apps. Sure, you can buy apps for the BB as well but it's not as attractive. The phone is a functional one, it allows me to access my emails, social networks and contacts most easily and quickly.

I haven't used an iPhone but from what I hear, it's just the purpose that is a little different. BB is more of a business phone, known for its sturdiness and functionality.

Quality of calls is great, reception so far is terrific, I am very happy with it.

The keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, as does the trackpad (it takes some time to figure out what sensitivity feature really works for you), but it's a learning process that you gotta go through, I suppose.

The battery life that is advertised is not as impressive as it looks (for standby hours - that is, if you don't ever use your phone for anything). If you check emails, social networks, text or surf a few times a day, with a couple of calls here and there, the battery will last you a couple of days. Which is not too bad but not nearly as impressive as I thought it would be.

One last thing is that it takes some time to figure out how to use all the features on the phone. It's not as user friendly as the iPhone, that's for sure. I think though, once you learn all the features and tricks etc, it's a great phone to have.

It's worth it!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

If you just need a phone for mostly e-mail, bbm, calling and texting, this is the phone. The keys are squished together, but you'll eventually get used to it. The only thing is you have to get a blackberry internet plan in order to use apps like facebook or bbm and have email. but the battery life is FANTASTIC!
This phone is WORTH every single penny especially since its unlocked! GET IT!

Excellent

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Just like the Bold 9700 the Bold 9780 is a very nice phone, it's not bulky, fits great in your hand with a great QWERTY keyboard. The battery life depends on your use, the network itself and other variables. With a internal memory of 512 Mb you have a lot of space for your app's.

Brilliant product! Easy to staying connected!

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

I really like my new Blackberry 9780 Black smartphone. It is sleek and stylish. I bought it because i wanted a better model after my previous phone became faulty. The keys are small and close together, but quick to get used to. It did take a week or two to figure out how to connect the phone to internet, but once connected, easy to use. The only feature i feel needs improvement is the the sound quality while actually calling someone, however, i don't know if every phone is the same, or if it is only mine that sounds muffled. I like the great 5mp camera quality. The locking feature is neat but easily missed. I love how the light flashes when there is a new notification to be seen. But my favoraite feature is the Blackberry Messenger which connects anyone with a Blackberry and provides a quick, free form or communication. I recomend this smartphone to anyone who want to stay connected wherever they go.

One of the strongest BlackBerries yet

Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

This phone has a very powerful camera and lots of on-board memory. Apps run smoothly and are easy to switch between, and the browser handles bulky pages much better than earlier models of the Bold. There is rarely any hang when performing actions, and the trackpad is extremely easy to use and very smooth in scrolling through long lists.

Sometimes, the trackpad gets a mind of its own and scrolls in one direction if left alone, but this is easily remedied by resting a finger on it. The buttons work wonderfully with no sticking or doubling. Because the trackpad is on a previously used phone, sometimes the scrolling issue will cause letter characters to shift to special characters (like accented letters), but this doesn't happen enough to be a nag. Overall the phone is extremely sturdy, fabulously easy to use, and is better organized in terms of where options and settings are located. Things are more streamlined than in previous OS versions. It is one of the best purchases I've made for a smartphone, and for a BlackBerry.
