This router can save IP addresses in non-volatile memory.

This router has the ability to reserve IP addresses. Therefore if you have security cameras with assigned IP addresses this router can reserve those addresses and save them in non-volatile memory. When electric power is lost to the whole house, after power is restored, a router that does not reserve IP addresses might generate new IP addresses that don't match the camera or cameras and your security system won't be able to "see" because the cameras cannot connect to your computer through the router because of the address mismatch or mismatches.

Good router with guest log in feature

I brought this router to extend my wireless cover area. This refurbished router came with a small piece of paper telling how to begin with the default IP address and password of this router (no CD). That is all I needed to start. The first time setup was painless to me.

When I have done all my setup and tested for the coverage area. The result was a little dissapointed. The coverage area is increased when compared to my old Linksys wrt54g but just about 10% that is why this router didn't get 5 stars rating. I was expecting wireless N should be a bit cover lager area. I didn't not test for the network speed because even wireless G is enough to me.

The good part of this router that I like is That this router have guest log in for internet access. It broadcasts another wireless station like another access point just for internet access but not my local network. I set it up for my friend/visitors like hotel style so they can only access Internet without knowing anything about my Private network.

The rest of the router features are all the same like any router should have such as DDNS, DMZ, Port triggering, etc.Read full review...

Belkin Wireless n+ router

The set up was not straight forward. It required two calls to the Belkin technical support. They were very courteous and knowledgeable. Several parameters needed to be configured for the router to enable the Internet connection (cable modem). The most important one was to "clone" the MAC address. This was not mentioned anywhere on the set up disk. After the router came up it worked perfectly but when there was an outage in the cable modem service, after it came back up, I had to go through the process of restoring the factory defaults, cloning the MAC address, and reconfiguring the wireless parameters (WEP security) for it to see the Internet connection. Belkin N+ Wireless Router (F5D8235-4)

I was getting fed up with cheaper routers that kept dropping my wifi signal. I tried LinkSys, Netgear and D-Link products but they were all pretty much the same: slower speeds than promised, range not quite far as stated, and they all dropped the wifi signal intermittently.
I decided to upgrade to an N+ router from the G routers i was using, and after doing some research decided on a Belkin. It was a breeze to setup, and works like a charm. Speed and range is actually better than promised on their website. I can take my iPad out into the backyard and into my neighbor's house without losing connection. I coupled this with the Belkin N+ Wireless USB adapter (F5D8055) for my desktop, and i couldn't be happier with my decision.
It also has this external storage feature which comes in handy: you can connect an external hard drive to the router to be shared with everyone on the network. So now i have all my music, pictures and movies on a 2TB external hard drive that the whole family can share. No more burning CD's or DVD's anymore. Totally awesome.Read full review...

Not as fancy as I had hoped

Bought this item for $35 incl. s&h. Worked fine right out of the box, I was able to change/adjust all settings as desired through both the setup software provided and direct access. The only detail I am not happy with is the QoS function - really not much there. Per the advertised description I had assumed that I would be able to define priorities between the different clients I have connected to the router, but there is no option to do so. I guess you have to go to some open-source firmware and risk getting stuck and throwing the piece away if you want full functionality...

Belkin F5D8235-4 v2 300 Mbps Wireless N Router

I have had several routers over the years, and recently upgraded my wired and wireless LAN to the N type using this router. Easy set-up, so far it is very reliable, very good distance for my home (single story 3br, 2ba type), and the speed for my laptops which have b/g/n wireless are very good everywhere. I would highly recommend this router.

If you expect your wireless (or gigabit wired) speeds to significantly jump upward from a G speed router, don't. You will most likely have an increase in thruput at wireless speeds, but you won't jump to 300mbps from your 54mbps just because you upgraded your router. 90+% of those of us upgrading will NOT get significantly higher thruput. scared about security setup from third party. but content.

good product, good condition, only concern was if there was security on it when it booted up, how i would remove it, but low and behold, the security switch is on the front and resetting a router no matter where it was manufactured resets the security. also went online to Belkin's website to discover the setup software. Belkin's website took forever to find a legacy product. but it works just fine. now I'm using it as a gateway/router for my printer and my airport express upstairs. the terminology is wrong but I think you get the message where my airport express is setup and this would the equivalent to an extended network.Read full review...

Great Product - Setup a little hard

The router is great and does its job. I love the USB connection. I have a 1TB HD set up on it and it really works well. The wireless N+ is great. The router tells you everything with lighted icons on the front - very handy.

The only issue is it was difficult to set up with my ISP. It did not want to take the PPPoE setting and connect to my ISP. Switched it to Dynamic and it works great. Also, the software CD kept freezing up on me when trying to install it on a Vista laptop. Moved it to my Win7 desktop and it was fine.

Easy to setup, strong signal. Best Router I have ever purchased.

I purchased this wireless router a while back after having been unsuccessful with two other brands (Linksys, Cisco). I live in a rural area and have a broadband connection that uses a fixed wireless system (antenna on my roof pointed at a radio tower miles away). Anyway, all the previous routers never seemed to work right with my system. They were either too weak or would constantly drop the connection. This router has been terrific. My internet connection has never dropped and the signal is strong throughout my entire house (my neighbor can see the signal from a couple hundred feet away). My kids accidentally fried this router by plugging it in with the wrong AC adapter. I loved it so much that I went on ebay and bought the exact same model. I am not a techie so I can't bore you with stats but I will tell you that set up is extremely easy and you will be online in minutes. Comes with an easy to use set up CD.Read full review...
