Ups and downs of the iPod

I bought the iPod mini because I wanted to have a variety of music and be able to buy individual songs. It is nice for traveling because it is so small. I also like the amount of storage because it stores a lot of songs and categorizes them into the different genres. It allows you to look up songs by title, artist, or genre. I dislike that it isn't in color and that the battery life doesn't last too long. All in all, I have been pleased with my iPod and have gotten much use out of it. If you are looking for an MP3 player that is versatile the Apple iPod mini is for you.

Ipod Mini

I abouth this ipod mini around 1 or 2 weeks ago. And this product have been around
6 years since it was first introuduced by apple. So this is a very classic, old ipod, so there is quit a few of lagg such as,harddrive glitch, delete song randomly, then come back after restore, etc..

But yet i'm still somewhat satifified with it, since i really enjoy collecting old ipod, it's really more of a hobbies i have.

So if you acually want to get hella of use out of it, i suggest you buying something else, since this is not really super reliable, the battery is all crapy, but if you're a collector like me, this is fabulous for you, and consider the price is under $30.

What a girl wants

I have had my Ipod mini for about a year now. My husband bought it for me when my Dell DJ died after a little over a year of use. The mini is cute and it's easy to download song for it, however there are some problems. First as most people know there are battery issues. What's the deal! The battery ALWAYS needs to be charged, I have to carry the charging cord with a plug ( that we had to buy seperate) to make sure I can charge it if Im not at home. When I called the hotline about it they just try and sell me a service contract, they won't do anything for you (just like Dell wouldn't) the other problem is that if you have a computer with different id's on them and you both have seperate Itunes on it, you can't combine the songs that you buy from Itunes. All in all I wish I had purchased a different MP3 player. It is just AVERAGE at best.

A good iPod but short battery life

I love the iPod mini in general, it is very small and durable and you can get them quite inexpensivley on eBay. The only problem with this 1st Generation model is that the batteries only last up to 8 hours -and that's if the battery if still good and you don't change songs much. These are notorious for the batteries going bad early and needing replacement.

Consider the 2nd Generation (M9800LL/A) series for double the battery life and longevity. They are identical in other respects except 2nd generation models have the capacity (i.e. 4GB, 6GB) printed on the back of the iPod.

The Touchpad Needs Work

I love the color--shiny pink. There's plenty of memory for me. My only compaint--I have trouble selecting the artists and playlists with the finger touch pad. I have asked other people who have the same mini ipod if they have trouble and they all say yes they do too. The touch is not immediate like a mouse for example and then when you get it moving it is hard to stop on the one you want to stop on. And of course the lists are long so I end up schrolling back and forth for a few minutes.

Apple iPod Mini 1st Generation Green

No, I would not recommend this product.
Review For: Apple iPod mini 1st Generation Green (4 GB)

These older iPod's should only be purchased if the battery has been replaced.
I have been a Mac user and programmer for 20 years and love all vintage Mac stuff.
Replacement of battery for older Apple item is expensive, requires technical knowledge and the Apple store often can't or wont be much help.Newer Intel based Apple products are less expensive and supported by Apple. Also most older iPods will not charge from the USB port! You will need a wall charger or Apple Docking Station, also some dock's and car chargers won't do the trick either! Once the battery is depleted you have a paperweight at best.Before-warned!

1st Gen IPOD MINI 4GB

I bought the IPOD because I didn't like changing CD's in my car & wanted all my music to go in one place. I am not at all impressed with the battery span of this unit, specially being used, the batter life was around 1.5 hrs, which is completely unacceptable. I did however purchase a new larger (650mah) battery, & now my batter life is somewhere between 6-8 hrs. But if I were to do it over, I'd definately spend the extra money to buy a 2nd gen, with much longer batter life.

Not too bad...

I purchased a ipod a year ago and i already returned it 2 times. They have a big battery problem, after a cpuple of months the battery is not fully working and can only use it for 3-4 hours.

Also you have to download Itune, and it doesnt work with win 98 or win ME.

Its still a nice gadget that do the job nicely when working.
