I know this will sound strange but I compared this to a WIndows 7 tablet PC (made by bModo) and liked the Windows 7 one better.
Just so you know, I work for Microsoft.
iPad is better at providing a variety of apps to run, has a better browsing experience that makes scrolling on pages and landscape/portrait switching much smoother and better than the Win 7 tablet. iPad has much better battery life.
For everything else I preferred the WIn 7 tablet. A lot of that is becasue I'm very used to using Windows based stuff and I understand how it works together with other Windows stuff.
I found Win 7 tablet better for
Video viewing (16x9) screen format.
Connecting to my Xbox 360
Connecting to my destop PC to playback all my music and video fies
Browsing various websites which use Silverlight
Connecting to full Internet sites, not mobile internet sites.
Listening to music or game audio when not using headphones (Stereo, iPad is mono)
LOL @ THAT>>Put together your laptop, GPS navigator, iPod and "iPhone " Why is Iphone included in there when you can not make a phone call with the IPAD2 SMH.You already have the Ipod in that list was that not enough? You have to make the IPAD2 seem like its also like the IPhone..Wow its just like Apple to make things bigger then they really are so they can charge for every last peace of there So called "amazing products!" Apple get together the sound for your MacBooks first then you can try selling us more dreams.... SMH Fair WARNING! If you paid all this money and your Ipad2 gets wet I will feel so bad for you ok :( thats all I can do and apple also after charging you a small fortune for your apple care :)
It's ok. The iPad was expensive, so I can't really re-sell it. The size and weight is average. The battery life was good. The price was expensive, so it was poor. Overall, it was below average.
Played with it. Not impressed. Lousy sound without headphones. On screen keyboard was better than I expected, but still not good enough to create any content (even email) with out frustration. iPhone apps look jaggy. Screen is beautiful and processor is responsive. E-book reading was hard on the eyes with no control over brightness or contrast. Apps and content are expensive! Can't browse sites with Flash. (Big problem now, maybe not later if HTML 5 takes off the way Jobs hopes it does.) No camera therefore no Skype which IMHO is the killer app for it. There are better options available for digital media players that are not nearly as expensive. Ultimately not worth the $$$. At least wait for V2.
I got an information from my friend, that iPad have a poorness of ability, here these:
1. Without Adobe Flash
2. Have no camera
3. Not able to multitasking view
4. Mini-screen only 9.7 inch
5. I have information that it's not use Mac Os
6. Have a small storage of memory
7. The battery isn't easy to change
8. Have no HDMI port
please correct it if my review have wrong information
from review above i suggested that the price of iPad belong
Only from $180-$280.
I'm not happy with my I-pad. it's defective. i don't get a full screen, theres a black line going through the middle of the screen. a friend of mine who is a computer tech told me it may cost $200 to be fixed. can something be done about this? i feel i've wasted money. im not much on technology,so it took me awhile to find someone to help me out. i wasn't sure of what the black line was on the screen, til my friend looked at it. i hope to get a` response back. oh and the battery was very low. not a good product. i actually got it for my boyfriend for christmas, cuz he can't afford a new one,and neither can I.
What a shame that this was purchased specifically to use with OverDrive for off-line reading and the early version of this App is no longer available for downloading on this 5.1.1 operating system. Even Gmail cannot be loaded in its full app. These are such great little machines and with older programs unavailable it is quite frustrating. We have another iPad 1st Generation 5.1.1. that has all these things downloaded and is working flawlessly. Such a disappointment. Did NOT want one with camera and phone capability so if this is a ploy by Apple to make folks upgrade, it failed. The one we just purchased is is MINT condition.
The following is my original review of the Ipad first generation. It is now outdated and left for historical reference only but Get at least an Ipad 2 for your entry level ipad. They are wonderful devices. OLD REVIEW:These are a bargain, and they do everything you should need a tablet to do, and do it well. I have an iPad 2 also which has facetime, which I use rarely, and a camera which I never use; so why spend the extra money for the iPad 2? My kid needed the camera function for a school project. I love my iPad 1 first generation and it seems better built than the later ones. Its like a 65 Mustang; the first are usually the best. For a good one you can pay less than $150. I did here on eBay and I love it. Accessories and cases are no super cheap. Try one. You will LOVE IT.
This generation iPad is fine for basic tasks like surfing the web or reading a stored book but it is not able to accept updates to the most recent OS from Apple. Thus, it cannot accept downloads of applications that require newer operating system installation. If you are not one who demands the most up-to-date programs and electronics then this generation iPad may be OK for you.
I paid too much ($165) for this iPad 1.
Apple's latest operating system iOS 6 and iOS 7 can not be downloaded on to it, because it's old technology.
It is only worth about $120
