Let's start off by saying that I was not impressed with the display of propoganda that on the 11 of march when the must have iPad 2 was released. Lines that circled the block and attitude with anxious apple goers to add to the frustration. Added with lightweight and a long battery life this unit keeps up with the best. However with high deman the quality department may have been limited.
This is my second apple product including the iPhone 4. I raved over the iPad and decided to wait for the next generation, since the original iPad was a beta bug for apple.
First, I will note the PROS because apple makes some great products and I don't want to take that away from them. The battery life is outstanding. I am on day number 3 and still have an impressive 27% battery life. The screen is very sharp and responsive to the touch. Additionally, I could hold this thing all day without getting tired because it is next to being weightless and with the addition of the smart cover very logical to hold. Response is great. The processor is very quick and I have not experienced app hangs or delays to date. Also, currently no software crashes.
CONS: besides the obvious differences between the original, the iPad 2 has a rear facing and front facing camera. The manufacturer claims HD recorder @ 720p, but from my experiences I would be a sceptic to these accusations. Video seems to be very dull and grainy, nothing close to the HD that I am used to watching. Let's face it, face time picture quality is set back a generation. The front facing camera is terrible quality. That equivalent to my old nokia, seriously.
Overall I give the iPad 2 a 5 out of 10. Apple must have really rushed to get these things out. Mine has the bleeding light issue in the corners that everyone is crying about. This proves quanity overmatched quality in this release. My suggestion to everyone would be to wait for number 3 to come out before you seriously consider dropping 600 bucks on this thing. My predicition would be much higher resolution cameras tacked on with a retina display. If you absolutely cannot wait, give it a few months, let demand die down a little, and perhaps they will get the quality department under control. Good luck and happy bidding!
Everything it does, it does very well. Screen is crisp, sound is excellent, it's responsive and fast.
Bad - No usb, no place to add a memory card. It cannot play .avi files (!!!!). Itunes must approve all files not downloaded from the internet. Won't run flash.
Overall - While it's on excellent product, I cannot understand the limitations placed on it. For example, a micro sd card slot is not present for storage, and that makes no sense to me at all. Since .avi files are the vast majority of video files why no support of these files? If there was an app available to play .avi's that'd be fine, but there is no such thing...it's bewildering!
I like my I Pad a lot. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is because they still don't have an app for flash player. I bought it to use for school and most of my assignments need the adobe flash player to work. I am very disapointed about that. For $5 hundred big ones, you would think they would come up with a flash player. DUH! You can't even play Face Book games. Like UNO, and slots. The new Sims game won't play either. Apple you need a flash player app.
It is too pricey compared to a Motorola Xoom or a Samsung Galaxy Tablet that I can use my Apps that use Adobe Flash
Very convenient and handy. However, Im unable to download several important applications which are vital to me. For example, MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, unable to upload JPG images-unable to upload to FaceBook. Additionally, unable to upload to eBay as well. I sell on eBay and when I try to list a product, there are times the screen will blur up and freeze.
If you're looking to just have a handheld device to check email, browse the internet, or play games, it may be ideal for you.
It has a small scratch on the back side which was not mentioned because i paid 402$ for that which is equal to the brand new one, but it wasn't. Has WiFi problem too. Keeps on losing signals and i have to connect it again and again with internet. Battery life is very good though.
Purchased this product brand new for my family. One of my children is autistic and I had heard that he could really benefit from this product. It is a really neat thing, however I am really disappointed that 4 days into our new purchase the home button doesn't work properly. You have to push the button several times before it starts working.
Well , I am the type of person that would go out to eat in a restaurant . If the food is good , I go back again . If it's bad ,I wouldn't complain and I would give them another chance . If it's always bad then Same On Them .
The product I bought was used . It wasn't new . You would be online looking at something all of a sudden the light goes out but comes back up .

Could have stayed with my old one. Don't notice a huge difference. The camera is pretty crappy, but its cool to do facetime with the ipad. Overall its average but no reason to upgrade.
