Worked Fine After A While

Initially, the App Store and iTunes did not work. I asked for help from Apple support but they could not figure out what went wrong. So I needed to figure out the fix by myself. The key was to look for the iOS that the computer had. Download the same iOS from Apple website. Install it on your Mac. Then it will guide you to update, etc. Then it worked out fine! So instead of rating this as 1, I am now rating it at 4.Read full review...

It's what you get for the money

Don't expect a pristine iMac. The one I receive had a huge dent right in the base along with several screen scratches. Advertised an 8gb RAM, but did not specify it was an upgrade from 4gb. Not a huge deal but would like to know priorRead full review...

Powerful and Stable Performance

This is the first Mac I've ever owned myself. I've had plenty of experience using them, but at home I've used Windows and Linux for a long time. Whereas the price of Macs always kept me away from buying, I've always known from my Mac-head friends that they last longer, perform better, and are composed of higher quality parts. So, I needed a new machine, because my Dell isn't doing well, and I saved up and bought the iMac.

I admit to being seriously impressed. It's by far the quickest responding machine I've ever owned. It's also exceedingly stable. Currently my iMac has been running for about a month straight without crashing, needing to restart, or even slowing down one bit, and I've been running resource intensive applications such as Ableton Live along with a slew of software synth plugins, and the Netbeans IDE and the Eclipse IDE. All along video chatting with people over Skype.

Oddly enough, and this is very strange, after an update to iTunes, iTunes began to perform strangely, like it sometimes won't respond right away to mouse clicks or keyboard shortcuts. Who knows what that's about though. The only other complaint I have is that the keyboard is really quite small, and I have big hands. I'd also like to have a numeric keypad on the right hand side in addition to the keys above.

I am very pleased with my iMac. Just how resource efficient it is while running my Digital Audio Workstation apps is reason enough. If you need a powerful machine with rock solid stability then consider one of these iMacs. Or if you can afford it then get a Mac Pro tower with 12 cores and 64GB of memory!

Thunderbolt iMac gives future compatibility with blazing fast drives. Yay!

I can say that this 2.5GHz i5 iMac processor has only shown itself to be slightly faster than the four year-old iMac Core2Duo 2.33GHz it replaced—on "regular" tasks like word-processing and web-surfing.

But I HAVE noticed a difference in heavy-lifting with Final Cut Pro on rendering large Hi-Def clips. But I'm still running Snow Leopard, because of all my legacy apps requiring Rosetta (MS Office, Adobe Photoshop CS, etc).

It could be that only Lion can make this machine roar. If so, it'll be a year or more before I find out. Purchased this because the old iMac was becoming unreliable following a lightning strike that killed the screen (even though my surge-protector insurance paid for a new screen). I had the money for a new one, and got a $100 discount on this machine.

Once you MAC you never go BACK!! BUY IT, YOU won't regret it!!!

I have been a MAC user for a long time. I own an iMac and a Macbook Pro.
Apple products are honestly made of top quality materials and they always last way longer than Windows. Macs have the fastest responding time and are very user friendly. Whatever you need is just one click away. The touchpad is really smart, too. Although there are many people say Mac is bad and expensive for no reason, it's because most of them have not used one for a while. You can use a mac for a long time without needing to restart it or shut it down. Also over the past years that I have been using Mac neither on my macbook pro and iMac it has crashed. I know it is more expensive than Windows, but it honestly pays for itself. Don't be afraid and invest your money on something that will hold its value for a long time and you don't have to be afraid of any crashes or anything. If you still need to use windows, you can have windows on it too! so there are no other excuses ;)
But seriously a mac will keeps its value always high. You can still sell a 6 year old macbook more expensive than a windows laptop that you but today!!
Just buy it, I guarantee you won't regret it. Don't listen to windows lovers, because they are yet to experience MAC!!!

Even though the Imac is expensive, It is worth it.

2011 Imac Review:

Do you want to find out more about your Imac? Well this review is the place to go to.

It has a good design with 4 Usb and a Thunderbolt port. It also has a good camera with 0.9 Mp of resolution. Another reason why it has a good design is because of it having good Bluetooth and good Wifi. It also has an amazing dvd drive that can burn cds and it’s display is a 21.5 inch display enclosed in glass and aluminum at high resolutions.

It also has good software such as Automator which does repetitive boring tasks for you such as make a email or get new mail or other stuff. There are other good software such as dashboard which has widgets such as a calculator or a sticky note. It also has 500Gb of storage to store more software than you'll ever need.

I like it because of it being in it’s latest Os. (Yosemite) I also like it because the Imac is able to run Windows! Lastly i like this imac because it can support more than 5 users at once and can’t really get a virus.

Worth every penny.

The high quality screen alone is with the price. And I save so much money with the free and/or cheep apple software to run it, it was a no briner to invest a little more up front, for a Mac. Plus, no annual virus protection cost. One day, the hardware will fail. It is still a computer, made up of cheep parts. But I have no doubt this machine will still run the most demanding programs in 5 years. How many windows based PC's can say that?
With apple support, I always talk to an American on the phone, that know their stuff. The wifi was a breeze to set up. All my printers and external hardware were plug in and play. For music production, this is the perfect machine.

My new IMac is superb. I know I will enjoy it for a long time.

I purchased the Apple IMac 21.5 Desktop MC309LL/A (May, 2011) for my very own Christmas present. I have been using an Apple/Mac since the early 9o's. I have one of the earliest IMac that still works. It is in storage, but still works. It was a Blueberry model. It has taken me a little while to get used to my new Mac. I use a Magic Trackpad with it. It took about six hours to transfer all my files from my other computer. Some of the files are duplicates but I want to find a new home for my older Mac. It is a 1 GHz Power PC 4 with 768 MB of Ram. I will be looking for a new home for it. It does have a 17 inch monitor. The new IMac was used but just a short time. Unfortunately some of the programs will not work with my new iMac. I do not regret buying my almost new IMac as it iis very fast. As most of my work will be with photos, I am looking for a good program to edit my pictures. Delivery was extremely fast. It only took three days for its delivery.Read full review...

Better than expected

I am so very pleased with my purchase! The item arrived 2 days earlier than expected! It was so much nicer than I expected it to be. I'm always leery of purchasing used items, especially site unseen. It was packed in an iMac box instead of just bubble wrap and the shipping box and included a very nice iLugger case. Everything works wonderfully!Read full review...

Top quality product!

I work with computers for a living and I'm very knowledgable on the Windows operating system, but I still choose to use a Mac for my personal use because it just works. My last Mac lasted me 4 years and was still working by the time I chose to upgrade to a newer one. My favorite thing about the iMac is that I also use an iPhone and iCloud, and the Mac integrates beautifully with iOS devices.

The only downside to iMacs in general would be that you cannot upgrade or replace individual parts yourself, but that's true of any all-in-one computer no matter the brand.
